so 60mg nic juice will in fact be 60mg then?? I dont wanna poison myself!

Thanks bnrk

Just buy PG and VG to dilute it with. Or you can get 36 and dilute it. What I did is get the 36 range nic first in 120 ml and then added the same amount 120 ml of PG /VG mix to dilute it so I ended up with 18 I think. I have to look! I didn't want a high nic % around. Then when I felt comfortable with mixing the base, I ordered a higher nic level to dilute for next time. But once you add your pure PG & VG you get the nic level down to what you want. bnrk

yea thats what Ive been reading. I was just gonna order 60mg nic juice but you think I should start smaller mg wise?

Maybe I'll get 36 and cut it like you did...

I want to add VG to my liquids too so I guess I'll need that as well...

So you feel the mg stated on their bottles were accurate then?

Seems like I can save a bunch of money by DIY my juice and I dont have to pay like 10 vendors shipping :)

It is easier to start with a lower nic level and get the feel for it. Wear rubber gloves, and have plenty of paper towels handy :) Just to be safe.

High Desert uses RTS nic base and from what I have been reading the nic levels are testing true to what they are listed as for this nic supplier, so you are getting what it says. This is also US made base, so another safety. I have been using it and it is working great.

Yes DIY can save you $'s no doubt. The flavors are really pretty cheap as well. I like that too! bnrk

I get my flavors from High Desert as well. He sells his flavors in handy dropper bottles, get a small amount of the ones you want to try. Get some empty bottles, I have a bunch of 6 ml size I use. I use a dropper and count my drops of base for a test batch. 20 drops = 1 ml. I mix 60 or 80 drops (3 or 4 ml) to try. Perfumer Apprentice flavors are more concentrated than Flavors West. So if I use 3 flavor drops for Perfumers Apprentice, I use 5 or 6 of Flavor Art. Best it is try some and the adjust up if the flavor is not strong enough in your test batches. bnrk

The 60-80 drops is base in your preferred nic strength, have it already diluted to your desired level. then add the 3 drops or 5 drops of flavor to that in the small bottle.

Oh something I used for mixing my nic base in, is i used a cleaned out plastic container like a large butter container. I poured in the PG/VG at 120 ml (I like higher PG 80/20 so used more of that) Then I poured in the concentrated nic into that so it gets diluted right away. I used a plastic spoon to mix it well. Then I poured the diluted base back into the containers they came in and I marked the containers at what level nic it now was diluted and the PG/VG ratio. You can also mark date of dilution for a handy reference. I then washed out the butter tub and plastic spoon in bathroom sink and threw them out. Easy to replace them and no worry of storing them. Then all your base is diluted and ready to mix flavors with. bnrk

and maybe a stupid question but if i get 60mg nic (all they have on the site right now) and I want 20mg juice with 20% VG

Thats what in ratios?

all pg would be 1/3 nic juice the rest pg..... but how does it work if i want 20% vg?? Maybe i'll get that calculator on here lol

You may need a calculator for that :) I was just cutting things in half since I basically vape around 12-6 nic level, I can cut the 18 in half and get 9 nic. But if your target is 20, they have some very handy calculators and even recipes to use. bnrk

Wow thanks so much for your help.

the flavors come with droppers, thats nice, but how do you measure out the nic liquid and pg and vg?

Do you use that other stuff like sweeteners and pga or whatever its called?

I use marked eye droppers, they have 1 ml, 2 ml marked. They are perfect for mixing small batches. I think High Desert probably has them, he has some nice cylinders too for measuring. bnrk

Oh for sweeteners, I do use things like brown sugar and molasses flavors, plus i got some sugar cream from DIY Flavor shop that I also use.
