Just hope it never gets to the point of needing surgery.

And hi aka. :)

Hi back atcha jj2!

His was (is) a fairly unique case because the discs ruptured rather than just bulging. He ruptured the disc between L4 and L5 in 2005 and surgery was the only way to get all the bits out that were irritating the sciatic nerve. Fast forward 3.5 years: we'd just paid off the first surgery and he ruptured the next disc down (L5 S1). He went from walking fine to "Hm, my back kind of hurts" to a wheelchair in the course of a week  and had to have 2 surgeries in less than 2 months to repair everything. Seeing as we're almost 3 years since his last round of surgeries, it's about time for me to start getting paranoid and over-protective :D

Oh I understand. DH is disabled because of the spine...neck injury.

He had surgery over twenty years ago and kept getting worse. Pain was pretty much intolerable.
A year or so ago, he went to see my doctor and found that a lot of it came from torn rotater cuff. Had surgery and stepped back in time about 15 years. He still has pain but not so bad that he can't function!!
