It can get scary...but I usually only buy meat that's marked down or the weekly special, always go for generics, etc.

I hit the store in town here for our meat and when they have the sales or I catch the marked down.
I usually keep the big freezer full too.

And I get a lot of other stuff there when it's on sale.
Basically I just have to hit Aldi's for eggs, milk, and yogurt.
