ok, I've ordered another set of trustfire, but these are white, a set of spiderfire and a set of black n flame trustfire. this should give me something to play with for a while, maybe I'll sell all the GTL's or something.. I've got like 6 or 7 sets

I'll be curious to hear your results between the white and black Trustfire.

Remember the Buzz is CURRENT LIMITED so you cannot draw more than 3 amps MAX , a dead short will only overheat the IC then it will SHUT DOWN so pushing batteries to the MAX like a dead short will NOT happen like it can on an unprotected device .

That's cool. So a short across the connector is not so much a concern. One could still short a battery in the barrel though? While snapping my batteries in one of those chargers I managed to nick the plastic wrap/casing where it wraps over the top cap exposing the metal edge of the top cap. Got me to thinking that with the spring on the bottom, if the top cap contacts the side of the battery tube you're going to have a dead short across the battery. lol, liquid insulator/electrical tape is great stuff :)

and that being the case you'd think that you'd want batteries that are capable of supplying up to 3A without exceeding the max drain of the batteries..
So the Buzz is yet another layer of protection

YES make sure that the top is covered ! depending on the MFG these batteries top Positive connection goes down the SIDE of the battery.
UNLIKE primary batteries I.E. Alkaline etc. the top/Positive connection runs down the side of them !!!!!

The max current discharge is rated in "C" it is a multiplication of the " CHarge rate " so if the charge rate is 800mah and it is a "2.5 C " rated battery then the max discharge is .8 x 2.5 = 2 amp .
the battery WILL discharge at a higher rate BUT the SAFE discharge according to the MFG is the " C" number.

Us Vapers haven been over discharging batteries the whole time !
That is why we put protection in the BUzz ! :vapor:

The reason I ask is sometimes when I'm vaping heavily, chain vaping and taking long 10 second hits, my Buzz will pulse off then back on again. Now I have thought that I was relaxing my finger slightly and just not realizing it, but after reading this I am wondering if this is the protection kicking in.

Exactly what batteries are you using?
Exactly what atomizer/cartomizer are you using and have you measured the resistance?

The only time it SHOULD do that is IF the IC goes into overtemp mode , this will happen when using LR attys at times ( I have not had it happen on reg. attys )
Is the tube getting hot ?

It gets warm, but I wouldn't ever say it was hot. I'm using the UF batteries with one of the Turbo cartos and set around 4.4v. It's probably just me relaxing my finger, but thought I'd ask :)

lol... I hate working with the decimal point...I just multipy the mAh by the c rate and divide by 1000....but any way you get there it's the same...

as for us vapers and over discharging batteries...yeah with stock batteries ....once I started looking at mods I started doing the math on amp draw versus max drain rates....lol... I make sure I don't over discharge my batteries...I will say that the introduction of the high drain 14500s did open up the world on what atties I could use on a 14500 sized mod
