high failure rate for joyetech batteries?

I only use the ego c and love it. But the cost of replacing failed batteries has me thinking of switching. My first 1000mah battery lasted 6 months and was happy with that. In the last 3 months I had 3 1000mah fail after 2 or 3 weeks and 2 1000mah fail after only a month! Some just stopped working some had the 3 blue flashes on the push button.
Anyone elce have the same problems with the batteries? I'm going nuts. Is there different maker where I could buy a reliable battery?

If you want to stay with the same form factor, kGo and Riva batteries have a great reputation and don't seem to have as high of failure rate.

i totally got lucky with my first pair of 1100 mah ego bats acquired in october. any others i bought in anticipation of these ones failing altogether bit the dust way prematurely.
i know "go with an mechanical apv" type of advice isn't for everyone, but it's the solution i had the most faith in for myself. really, straight up batteries i'm willing to cut a loss on, this disposable battery stuff is not for me at all.

I hate to ask this but did you accidently do the 3 or 5 click off on the battery? I thought one of mine was dead and I just turned it off without knowing kinda forgot about that feature cuz I never used it. I mainly use mods at home and when at work or out never really thought of turning them off. Just a thought

A bad charger can cause batteries to fail. Suggest you get another charger for about $6. Then you'll also have a spare charger even if the first was OK.

I've NEVER had a battery fail. Been vaping 3 years, and I now have 6 batteries.
2 ego's, 3 Rivas which I got for the higher voltage, and my latest, an eGo Twist.
My only problem is that the RIVA batteries are not as "hot" as the Twist, and the 3.3 V eGo is even worse. So they're just for use when the Twist battery is charging.

All my batteries are approx. 650 mah.

Oh, I use a 1.8 ohm atty which is supposed to be "hard on batteries." I don't think so.

When more than one of anything fails IMO it becomes a good idea to look beyond the item that failed, and find what is causing them to fail.

Are they genuine Joyetech batteries? I've bought some eGo knockoffs that didn't last long, while the genuine Joye batts keep on going.

I have had two "failures" since I started in the beginning of March. My first was replaced by the vendor. The second one, I think was my fault as I lost the button and made one out of a carto tip. It wasn't the same, and now, I can't get the battery to charge or work at all! Dam! I'm trying to decide where to go from here! I know that most of the mods are pretty expensive. So, is it really worth it to spend all that money on one AND the special batteries? If that breaks, you actually lose more than you would for a cheap broken ego.... I know I'm saving a lot of money not smoking, but I have had a lot of unexpected expenses come up recently.... I've been looking at inexpensive mods like the puck (which uses AA rechargeables, I already have a ton of those), an old goat bottom feeder (really inexpensive) or a box type mod... I wish I was handy with a soldering gun, it would be a lot cheaper to make my own!

My self and my wife and my mother in law all use eGo batteries. We have every style of battery in production even the eGo 18650 mod, which by the way I love. I am currently using the eGo twist in fact i have 2 1000 mah and they have been great. We have been vaping for around 7 months with no failures or problems of any kind from our batteries. I would lend towards the problem being in your charger, they can and do go bad. Make sure it is a genuine joyetech charger and give them another chance. They may not be getting a charge at all and that could be your flashing button. I have a couple of mods box and stick, I have come to be ok with taking the batts out to charge them and all that stuff but the simplicity of the eGo form factor simply can not be beat. Good luck with your endeavors and remember not to give up everyone on here has had there fair share of bad luck with all this vaping stuff.

thank you everyone for your input.I seam to be the only one experiencing the failure rate. so I'm going to give up on joyetech and switch to a brand that can handle my usage. Been wanting to try new things.

Agree with other posters. Could be your charger. I have a lot of eGo batteries and use them all. I have not had one single failure. However recently I bought another small charger USB for my old RN4081 batteries, because it was smaller and more compact than the original charger... sigh... Within 2 days, all 4 of my batteries died .

I was so impressed with the new RN4081 cartos and was intending to PIF to some old guy down the road who always sees me walking by with my dog on the way to the park, and who stands outside to smoke. He ocassionally asks to take a puff off my ecig, so I thought it would be cool... Anyway end of that idea! Luckily I have a 510-RN4081 converter, so at least I can still use those cartos on my 510 devices.
Anyway, the charger killed the batteries!

Real eGos...no problems....still have the originals I bought 2 yrs ago. Knockoffs...with the soft silicone button....no luck at all!

There are alot of knock off "joyetech". All joyetechs have the ce rating around the metal band under the button and the joyetech logo on the bottom. Also most of them have white led button...I'm thinking you got an off brand not made by joyetech
