In the last few weeks it really has seemed to me that us vapers are really self dividing. I haven't even posted in awhile, as I see a lot of indirect hate for using a mech and dripper set up. I don't vape indoors, unless it's a business that allows smoking (still exist in Mississippi). 30w+ and direct dripping is really what it takes for me to not want a cigarette though, and that's my all day set up. I have friends who use egos and are perfectly happy, and I have friends who use dual 26650 unregulated boxes. I've really never thought of myself as being an elitist, it's about what works, my girlfriend uses a 7w set up as her all day vape and loves it. Do I enjoy it when someone admires my clouds? Yes! Everyone enjoys attention, and that's no reason to hate on your fellow vaper.

Just posting as one of those "crazy, juice wasting, cloud blowing, elitist, mech owning, snobs" saying that we should ALL be working together, not pushing apart.

Hmm... I don't see it as a bad thing if you're cloud chasing. If you like it and if it keeps you without analogs then don't mind what they say. Just keep it safe. If your batterys are gettin real hot you're runnin it too hard. :)

The only thing that I see as bad about sub-ohming is when its taken so far that the device becomes a danger to the vaper and everyone around.

I think there is a point of distinction in what you are noticing. You have found the sweet spot for your tastes and that happens to be in the territory that can generate a lot of vapor. I think where a lot of folks are having bones to pick are with people who are doing that for sport, just for the sake of fogging a room up. There are also folks who are pushing the reliable limits on batteries with these ridiculously low resistance builds. Those folks are not only endangering themselves, but also a battery failure away from being another ANTZ statistic.
I do not consider myself a cloud chaser by any stretch, and I think most people probably wouldn't say I am either. Do I admire my vapor? Yea sure. I drip, I tank, lowest I go is 0.5, and the highest is 2.0. Each delivery mechanism has its place for me.

Heard him wisper to his girlfriend how my setup was a waste and nothing but junk lol.....I don't care if folks don't like what I have it suits my needs and does what I need it to. Is there better??, prolly but at the end of the day jimmy crack corn

    I don't see the hate.

But on the Internet, you will always see those who need to justify their own purchase decisions.

HATE ......... devil made me say it

To be honest about it, the way the OP chooses to vape doesn't influence or alter the way I choose to vape in any manor. So he's welcome to have at it.

This is a good thread topic, because I haven't seen it discussed much...

I have a lot of vape shops in my area, and they are becoming more and more cloud-based.
Most of them are staffed by young men who chase those clouds.

The problem I have with this is that they DO look down on those that use standard equipment.
They don't seem to realize, or care, that quitting smoking is the goal for a lot of people who look into vaping.

I have been using an Ego Twist with a standard 510 atomizer for years now.
And I have no intentions of changing that at any point.

But they start out by treating me like a piece of bellybutton lint.

Until, of course, I tell them in no uncertain terms that I am perfectly happy with my setup.
And until I show them, by my attitude, that I am not concerned with their opinions of my setup or my approach to vaping.

    This IS a problem

The way I have been approached would be a turn-off for a large class of potential vapers.
And that is mostly those vapers that need or want to quit smoking more than they care about all that other crap.

I agree. I haven't seen the "hate" or animosity among vapers with the exception of internet forums. Maybe I need to hang out at vape shops more often?

You won't find it there either.

I frequent several and it's all sunshine and lollipops.

It's funny how talking to people face-to-face makes us act more civilized.

I guess the Penny and MutationX hanging from my belt makes me an elitist DB.
I better go home and hide all of my vv/vw stuff and non RB tanks, someone may see em.

    Different strokes for different folks.

In any hobby, or human interaction for that matter, there will always be those who have the my way is better so you're stupid attitude. Screw em, I don't value their opinion so it doesn't affect me.

Sadly not everyone who sub-ohms understands the boundaries of common sense and when there is an incident in public it just adds fuel to the flames.

The common sense factor is probably the largest issue I personally have seen. OP here by the way. As I said, my set ups are sub ohm drippers and I do not use them inside businesses. I see almost daily people in the grocery store or the mall just throwing clouds, and then they get offended when they're asked to stop. At that level people don't even confuse it with analogs, it's just impolite.

Owns old school style 510 Cigalikes for stealth vaping = Yes
Owns Ego Class and Clearomizers for stealth vaping or backup = Yes
Owns At least one VV/VW APV and Higher End Tanks or Drippers for them as an all day vape unit = Yes
Owns At least one Mech mod with RBA/RTA/RDA in sub-ohm ranges for when get a wild hair up my britches to chuck a cloud or sample some juices, and as secondary all day vape back up units = Yes

I am in agreeance with most, what ever it takes to keep an ex-smoker, ex-tobacco user off the analog stuff as what is needed, see my examples above I have a wide range of older and newer gear that I use, all situationally classified. Heck I even cloud chase from time to time myself from time to time. My only complaints are the bro's trying to be like any guy in any generation growing up having their whose is biggest contest in the middle of say a Denny's or IHOP, rest of Joe Q. Public does not appreciate this. Seen a group in the middle of a Starbucks have a bro competition, other customers staring especially at the one that ran his RDA dry and lit his cotton of fire seconds after he had released the firing switch due to the parallel 20awg dual coil he was running.

A lot of this crowd are elitists with there expensive rigs and such passing scorn down on someone using an Ego class for instance, heck even get some of their down talking running on my MVP with a Mini Nautilus, catch the down talk, pull out my Cartel Mech and setup, funny thing, the trash talk immediately decists. Hard to say what the middle ground is to come to a compromise and human nature to always have to be in the "IT" crowd, can't we all just be ourselves and not have to be like all the other Smiths on the block in the neighborhood?

One cannot deny that SOME of the high wattage/low ohm/RDA cloud chasers do indeed take a look at their fellow vapers with an MVP and a Kayfun, and look down their noses and the first thing outa their mouth is:

"Why don't you just get a mech?".

This being said with a condescending sneer. As if a regulated builder isn't really a builder. I know for sure - I've had it happen to me, more than once. Sometimes, I'll be running my 134 and a Kayfun. I get laughed at by these folks. This is probably where this division comes from. I know a few mech dripper users who are as cool as can be. But they still weasel in the "why don't you just go mech, dude? You could build righteous setups on a mech. You can't on a regulated". They are nice and all - I would hate to get in an argument with them. They are nice people who think their setup is the bestest in the whole wide world. They have found the vaping Holy Grail, and are being nice enough to basically inform me my setup is for noobs.

I just hold back and say: "just wait - I am gonna keep experimenting and trying new stuff, and will eventually come to a cloud that will rival yours, if not beat it. All on a regulated.".

I don't want to hate. But a lot of the mech contingency needs to stop telling others that their stuff sucks. I mean really. The OP seems like a well - heeled person. But how often have you seen someone playing around with building a regulated RBA, and ask them "why don't you just go mech"?

Maybe they don't WANT to. If they are building, they have certainly considered mechs, believe me. For whatever reason, they chose not to go that way right now. That is their informed, independent choice. Anyone telling them they "oughta go mech" is insulting the research and their decision. About the 15th time you've heard this, with varying degrees of condescension/patronizing comments - you may tend to get an attitude towards mech drippers.

Respect others with the same level of respect you want, and everything would be all happy happy joy joy. My two cents. And not a penny more.
