HIGHBROW VAPOR
LIMONCELLO

18mg, twist@4.2v, blend 70/30, SR atty, born 8/3/12, steeped almost a week

Color- yellow almost clear

Vapor-good

Throat hit- good

Subtle, medium flavored, or strong flavored- medium-

Non sweet, slightly sweet, sweet, very sweet - very lightly sweet

Is it clean? (Is it free of any, perfumy, soapy or chemical like notes?)-yes

OVERALL RATING (Bad, ok, good, great)- good-

MY EXPERIENCE & OPINION YMMV

I could hear the argument at first vape, lemon cleaner.

I get the comparison but I disagree. The lack of sweetener causes the alcoholic drink lemon type flavor to become a more pronounced lemon, the subtleness emphasizes that. If my mom vaped she'd be all over it. She likes to eat lemons straight up with salt. Pucker is an understatement. The salty lemon-not the ejuice lol

Think dry lemon drop. Dry lemon martini. Short on sugar. That's limoncello. If your thinking lemonade nope. It could be a substitute though if you love lemony stuff. Tangy, tart, sour, all apply, but it is not sharp or strong.
People are right in saying it's good, although I disagree with all the hyped reviews that it's all that and a bag of chips.

Highbrow has a referral/review program. If you review/give feedback or a friend makes a purchase (first time) you can get a 10ml free on your next purchase. So shoot me a pm for my email address and tell Bryan OGREDOG sent u lol.
There is also a monthly drawing. See site for details.

dog,

Highbrow Limoncello is an homage to, if not a perfect replication of, the Italian liqueur of the same name.

From Wikipedia: Limoncello liqueur is made from the lemon zest (grated rind without the white pith) of a specific lemon varietal native to southern Italy (Sorrento lemons, which have a unique and intense fragrance). The zest is steeped in grain alcohol until the lemon oil contained in the zest is released. This slurry is then filtered, and the lemon oil-infused alcohol is diluted with water and lightly sweetened with simple syrup. Voilá! Limoncello.

Contrast that delicacy with lemonade, which is usually made with the pressed or squeezed juice of Eureka or Lisbon lemons (the most commonly-available commercial varieties, unlike Meyer lemons), which is then diluted with water and sweetened substantially by adding copious amounts of white sugar. Sure, people of all ages love lemonade, but it's primarily a children's drink (non-alcoholic) where the emphasis is typically on the sugar sweetness rather than the lemon tart/sour.

Your opening comment about "lemon cleaner" is actually pretty close, sarcasm notwithstanding. Limoncello is traditionally served in Italy after meals, as a digestivo---an aid to digestion. (And while that may be true because of the acidic properties of macerated lemon oil, I'd guess that it's also another excuse for humans to consume alcohol, akin to the religious teetotaler's use of "medicinal" brandy, LOL.)

Limoncello liqueur isn't sharp or strong. Yes, it's tart, tangy, and slightly sour, but very refined. The same applies to Highbrow Limoncello eliquid.

All of which adds up to nothing more than my liking it a lot more than you do. Want to trade your bottle of Limoncello to me for something else? I'd happily mail you a small bottle of FlavorWest Lemonade flavoring concentrate, or whatever you'd like from my massive juice stash.

Haha perhaps you can trade that flavor west flavoring for a sense of humor somewhere lol It's very nice to hear the how its made.... and an adult beverage, which I know he uses his own homemade version-which is pretty Highbrow/class of him and special but...

I just wanted to describe it. I could go into all that but its pretty much on his site for people to read once they get there.

I wanted to tell people they shouldn't expect lemonade, because I've read many posts saying its a good lemonade....and a few lemon cleaner posts ...and it's not either of those.

My point exactly. My post wasn't intended as slam at you, dog, but to nail down the reasons that Limoncello is not lemonade, and people shouldn't presume it to be lemonade or judge it as such (as you note that some have, with either wild praise or derisive scorn, both of which are misplaced).

I did get the impression that you didn't like it all that much (Good minus, "short on sugar"), so my offer to trade was sincere.

Short on sugar was meant as a description not a slam-many lemon drinks call for sugar....and I just meant its not very sweet. I merely thought u were joking from my old vapor renu days lol limoncello is good and perhaps I'm being to critical it just doesn't seem like a go to for me and its light on flavor, perhaps I should have addressed it as more of a special niche flavor as it is instead of pointing out what its not. We will see about the trade lol I'm at knotty berry farm!

grrrrbgrg g. O.?

ECF is amazing. My post is quoted for a reply, and parts of it end up looking like they'd been run through a German Enigma Code Machine in World War II. LOL. I mean, there's funny and then there's funny, and that's funny. Ain't technology grand?

Nothing like a little word mangling to lighten things up.

dog,

Oddly enough, I liked the mangling---wherever it came from. It introduced an element of random strangeness, as if space aliens were monitoring our little exchange and inserting their own commentary, raising it to a new level of cosmic significance (or chatter, whichever). Learning that your pocket did it just shifts the interpretation a bit from alien intervention to Automatic Writing, in the occult sense. LOL.
