JP--you are just hearing the coil and mesh heat interacting with the e-liquid--with some atomizers you hear it and with others you do not-but it is totally normal--Hope that helps--Sun

well now i do admit it's with the cartridge out....trying to clear the atomizer off so i can switch flavors

This is correct...the atomizer is, in effect flash evaporating the liquid...it heats it beyond boiling point very rapidly. You're basically hearing the steam being created.
You'll get the same effect if you heat up a pan really hot and drip some water in it.

Some atomisers fizz like crazy when new, but calm down a bit when "broken in". A certain amount of fizz is quite normal and nothing to be ashamed of.
Yep I noticed that sucking sound also on my mini fogger. I can't help but think of the movie Silence of the lambs, when they pull the cocoon out of buffalo Bill's victim's throat, whenever I hear it.

I hear it in my Rio pen....and it makes the micro switch ativate and it gets the atomizer hot....kind of getting on my nerves....lol....hoping it will calm down a little ....
take a toke and it keeps on going for the count of 6....and then the light blinks about 6 times to tell me i used it to much in a short amount of time.... Need the old battery style i guess...........

I've heard the hissing noise from e-cigs in some vids on youtube and to be honest, I think it sounds badass.
When I smoked analogs, I used to love early in the morning, listening to my cig burn and crackle a bit when I took drags.

My kissbox hisses, fizze, and even pops. I can tell when it need more juice and I can tell how much power is in the battery just by the sound. I love the sound since my kissbox does not have a LED( don't like the fake cig look) I do everything by sound.
