Sort of related to my other thread about my smoking battery; but I have noticed that when I put on a carto, I hear a hiss. Sort of like the cartomizer firing up. Since I am using manual batteries, I don't see how, as it shouldn't be getting any power. Is this normal?

Also, what happens if I don't screw in the cartomizer all the way? I have noticed I have not done that on occasion.

That is what I am afraid of; although it has always happened and i thought it was just normal. The hissing stops after a couple of seconds and the carto does not get hot at all. Of course, maybe the cut-off is engaging.

I am getting some new batteries next week. I'll have to check to see if it happens with them as well. I do not have a meter any more. Been a while since I had needed one.
