I had a tantrum in here today and closed some threads. I feel like I was a bit harsh..but well..what are you going to do?

The guys, who are are always welcome to read or post the occasional comment in here have begun a parade..I am not blaming them, it's up to us to maintain our space. It's not that I don't enjoy a good time..but it becomes a matter of our forum mission as stated below.

This area was started as a safe place for the ladies of ECF to come and share in each others lives, support, amuse and vent in a safe enviroment.
The rest of ECF is co-ed and you pays yer money and takes yer chances.
Kate, who started this forum wanted us to be able to discuss anything pertaining to women's issues and concerns without fear of mocking, insults or teasing. Try that in general!

This is what happens when Domino has to take time away..she balances me out!
So I applogize and will consult with Domino when she feels up to it.

I didn't HAVE to close any of them! No one did anything wrong. I just made an atempt to stem the flow of the guys in here. Just look for the little locks on the threads.

Nope! They guys really did behave. But they are not the ones I worry about..as you know not all the guys are gents. Then the problems start and the locking and the banning. better safe then sorry!
The girls are the trouble makers...

Rose! Never a truer word has been spoken! I enjoy the guys when they post..once in a while. But this is after all the Women's Room! Plus, there are just times we need a testosterone free place to be.

I feel I have my share of culpability (is that a word?) in this whole thing MK. I would have preferred to be locked out of the WR instead of the two today. They are both extremely polite people and I felt really bad. I understand what you did, but I feel like my actions were more responsible for today's events than theirs were.

Don't be silly ladies! If you hadn't noticed, I posted in all the threads too! No it wasn't anything anyone did. I just adore Liscab, El, Jerry and Angus.
I will make sure Liscab and Jerry know this wasn't a slap on the hand to them.

The point is that when we do decide to discuss something of substance..we will not be pleased if the guys come in and take over or even worse some of the trolls start in on us. I don't play well with that type and by opening the door too wide..we invite the wrong sort. Then what can we say? Yeah, this guy is cool..but that one isn't?

I have never minded a comment, a congrats, recipes or encouragement by the guys..but a while back I had nothing but trouble, P.M.'s , rants and rude posts by a few guys. My P.M. box stayed full of juvenile jerks who thought they should be allowed to go anywhere they pleased and cause trouble. They complained that they couldn't play in here and it wasn't fair! That we were were sexist, we were male bashing and even one gal who thought we were just too stupid to live. Another thought we should be password protected.

It took me 3 months to make this a place like your kichen table..a cuppa, support, some gossip and fun.

Like I said, I will talk to Domino, she is a bit more open to things then I am, I will pass the complaints on to her..lol!

Well the cramp thing always worked for me when I was feeling bad and the boss thought I should still stay at work no matter how sick or contagious, he was a man so all us women had to say was that it is a women problem. He looked at us and said ok go.

I agree with you MK all the way, if we let some of the nice guys in then we open the door for everyone and you get what you said earlier in your PM, I sure would be angry to recieve that kind of stuff. Do the guys have their own room?, if not maybe they should start one. LOL

I am not gay so why would I join the gay's subforum. I'm not from Florida so why would I join a Florida's subforum. I'm not atheist so why would I join the Atheist subforum. Therefore I am not a woman so why would I join the Women Room subforum.
