I didn't see a choice when I bought the computer from Dell. It was a cyber Monday deal. I hope it's going to be ok. It has an AMD processor. I've always bought intel processor computers in the past. Oh well, if not then it was super cheap and won't break my heart to replace it in a couple years.

It was a pretty good deal. I got the computer with 8gb ram and a 1tb hard drive for 329. Like I said, if it's a lemon then I'll get another one in a couple years. Either that or if it's bad from the start then I'll email dell and see if I can return it and upgrade to something else.

Good Morning. Hitt, don't worry about the processor as I assume you really aren't playing intensive games, crunching numbers or editing video. You may be right, I don't remember but maybe the transfer was an option?

Good Evening Fran. Hitt you are good to go, next time I am just buying a Android tablet for travel as I don't do any work related stuff and the Win notebooks are more expensive.

The program I am going to use to do the transfer is called laplink pc mover. I found it recommended on Microsoft's website.

It’s just a program that transfers stuff from one computer to another so you don’t have to spend a bunch of time moving stuff one at a time.

Good Morning. Hitt, I have used laplink for transferring data to a new Hard Drive or I should say cloning a drive. But I paid for the more expensive cable that comes with it, not just the program.

I didn’t know there was a cable available for it. In case I have problems, I brought home a c2g cable from work that can be used to transfer data also.

Ok, I’m having a horrible time with the transfer. I didn’t think this through very well before starting. I didn’t realize that my wife has 276gb of pictures on our computer. I’m going to leave the pictures on an external hard drive instead of slowing down the new computer. Of course I’ll have to buy a new hard drive to use for backup. I don’t like the laplink software and am going to try the cable from Work to transfer settings and documents.

I have a question. I have a flat scree TV,nothing fancy and I have DirectV. Having a hard time getting the tv to work.It comes on with a blank screen and I have too play with on on button awhile to get the show up. Is it the TV or the Directv? Guesses are welcome.

Do you have a Blue ray player or anything else connected to the tv? If so, switch the input to a different device and see if the tv works normally.

I do but I don't have a different device to hook it to.

Can I just unplug the bluray from the TV and try it?
