Good afternoon, humid here. Hitt, you need to start planning for retirement.

I wish I could retire early like you did. My wife has health issues and hasn't worked in several years so we've been running on one income. I do have a decent amount in my 401k and a few other small investments. Next month will be the first time in seven years that I haven't been paying for college and rent for a kid. My youngest has decided to take a break from college and is moving back to KC to work and is going to share an apartment with a friend. She got her CNA and CMA and has been working at a retirement community in Kansas. She took one semester off and decided that she was done for now. I'm sure she will go back later but it will be on her and not on us. I know she's not going to be happy until she gets her RN. I feel like maybe she wasn't ready for college and should have taken a year off after high school. Nothing to be done about it now. It will be nice having her close by again.

Good morning, hitt :) It will be nice to have less bills and a daughter close by.

Yes, definitely. We should be able to finally afford to do some home improvements we’ve been wanting to do after I catch up a little from all the stuff that broke down on us the last month and a half.

Hopefully the last two appliances will hang on for awhile.

We've had about 6k in expenses in less than two months. Between the fridge and dishwasher replacement, repair on the dryer, wife's emergency trip to SC, and bathroom project. Had we known that the other stuff was going to happen then we might have waited on the bathroom project.

    That’s way enough for awhile.

Forgot to say hello before the gym today. Hitt, I turned 60 last November! Ms PT turned 60 this May.

Some people say it’s better to wait to collect SS until you are at full retirement age. What’s your opinion?

I think it depends on your situation. We have no need for the SS payments, but I paid in and want to collect as soon as possible. But for folks needing part or all of it to live comfortably in retirement, then yes I would say wait as long as you can. Originally we thought I would cash out at 62 and Ms. PT will wait till 65 or 67 but we decided we should both collect at 62.

Sorry to hear that but at least the car can be replaced, glad she is fine.

Yes, I’m glad too. The car doesn’t sound like it’s totaled. She said it hit on the passenger side and broke the mirror and the washer fluid bottle. She said there was a lot of fluid on the ground when she drove to work but no trouble lights on. Not sure if it’s leaking antifreeze or not. Hopefully not.

Good Morning. Sounds like the car is not too bad. Another Sunday here, tourists everywhere, city is busy!

It was bad enough that the insurance company sent a tow truck and had it dropped off at a garage. We’re trying to find her a rental car since we didn’t have rental insurance on her car.
