The barrel smoker just seems like a lot of work any more. I get what I think are good results but it's an all day task cooking. It'd be nice to set it and forget it.
I used to buy the Pecan or Apple wood chunks and soak them in water and placed it directly on the electric element. I'd add to it once during a 4 hour smoke. Now when I had a true wood only smoker it was a pain.
Just had my steak for dinner have a lot of leftover for tomorrow.
