The Internet
Greeting!

So today is my 4th day off analogs and i can safely say i'm hooked on vapor. These last few days have been a learning experience though, i must say. I initially purchased the blu like so many others. Can't remember where i saw it first but that was a waste of money. I was a vapor tease. When i started using blu i could tell it wasn't what vapor could be and i knew if Blu made this thing, someone else has made it better. Just got my Janty V3 today and can safely say I'd have had a better experience going straight to it. I think the conventional look of Blucigs caught my eye and i didn't understand how or why they wouldn't werk well. The size and shape of a cigarette simply doesn't lend itself well to the physics of vapor. So advised for any other newbs. IMHO get a real PV(Personal Vaporizer) and skip the "Cigarette" E-cigs.

So many questions... lol

1. I want to get a backup atomizer for my janty. There are a couple on the website. One's about twice as expensive as the other. I don't mind spending money on a quality piece of equipment but I'd love to understand... What's the difference?

2. There are about a million posts on liquid here. It's simply too much information. Is trial and error / sample packs the only real way to find out what's good?

3. When should i think about cleaning my atomizer?

4. Is there an atomizer break in period and what happens before/after breakin?

5. This is awesome!

Thanks in advance. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask!

Hi! Welcome to the forum, glad you're LOVING it! Me too. I'm no expert, but here goes nothing:

1. I want to get a backup atomizer for my janty. There are a couple on the website. One's about twice as expensive as the other. I don't mind spending money on a quality piece of equipment but I'd love to understand... What's the difference? Perhaps one of them is a High Voltage Atomizer (not sure of the difference, but perhaps will last longer on a bigger battery than the other????

2. There are about a million posts on liquid here. It's simply too much information. Is trial and error / sample packs the only real way to find out what's good? It's totally trial and error! What you like may not taste good to someone else and vice-versa. Sample packs are a good starting point if you can find some. The only exception may be tastyvapor -- I haven't heard any bad reviews yet (haven't tried it yet myself but it's in the mail) but he (Geoff) only sells it in 1oz bottles.

3. When should i think about cleaning my atomizer? Never. Ok, here's the deal: Don't clean your atomizer unless it is basically useless to you and you have nothing left to lose. DO blow it out into a paper towel and set it upright (threads up so it drains) overnight. If you use really dark juice it's going to get gunked up more quickly and die. YOU MUST have spares (at least 4 working ones) on hand at all times. Atomizer life span is anywhere from a few days to months and months (I heard someone had one for 7 months) so even if you go order ONE right now, it may just conk out on you as soon as you get it. Order 3 spares or more.

4. Is there an atomizer break in period and what happens before/after breakin? Assuming that you blew out the primer when you first got it, most people see a real improvement after a couple of days. After it becomes "seasoned" you will see better vapor, better flavor, less metallic taste -- MAKE sure you don't vape it dry ever. The wick must always be moist (not wet ever, just moist) and if you vape it dry it can kill the atty and ruin the flavor.

5. This is awesome! I KNOW!!! I am amazed by this product! I feel like I can finally have my cake and eat it too. (I never could figure out what that saying was about until now)

Thanks in advance. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask!

Good Luck! :)

Good Luck! :)

That's the best way to describe this that I've come across. Add that the cake has zero calories. Take that, Jenny Craig!

sl1pg8r, first of all I had to copy and paste your handle. My brain isn't even trying to wrap around that combination of letters and numbers.

Secondly, welcome to ECG and congratulations on finding vaping.

1. I want to get a backup atomizer for my janty.

The JSv3 is one of my favourite mods. Without an adapter, it'll take the Janty Classic (obviously), it will also take the 801, the 302 and the BE112. These fall under the umbrella of "pen-style" atties and they're pretty much all the same and can readily be found at most e-cig suppliers. One backup atty is not going to cut it. Your atty will die on you sooner or later. Also, once you get into different flavours, you'll want multiple atties so as keep the flavours from crossing. Personally, I feel like I'm running low when I'm down to ten spare atties. Vaping is the wall that guards me from analogs, so I like to keep that wall high and thick.

2. There are about a million posts on liquid here.

Actually there are only 16127 threads specifically about liquid. If anybody feels like disputing that figure, go and count 'em for yourself. Once you're done, I'll laugh at you for wasting so much time over a number that I made up off the top of my head.

Trial and error is indeed the only way. Nothing wrong with that. It's all part of the amazing journey.

3. When should i think about cleaning my atomizer?

What Rosa said.

4. Is there an atomizer break in period and what happens before/after breakin?

All the atties I've used have had a 2-3 day break in period depending on how much I'm vaping and on how frequently I'm rotating atties. After the break-in, it's like the atty has woken up.

5. This is awesome!

It truly, truly is.

Welcome Sl1pg8r

Gratz on the decision to try e-cigs over the stinky ones.

One thing I would add to everyone elses comments about juice - there are a few vendors that offer sample packs - 5 flavors whatever strength you decide to give you an idea of what you would like. Do not worry about getting something and not liking it - put it aside (you can clean them out) and move on to the next one. It took me one (1) sixteen sampler and one (1) five sampler to figure out that I didn't want the tobacco flavor - I prefer the "tasty" flavors. Currently, I am totally loving Butter Rum :).

Good Luck and stick around - these forums are a blast.
