I quit smoking four days, seven hours, and eight minutes ago.

Before that I smoked for ~18 years (1 PAD) and the longest I had gone without a smoke was one day.

Last week I decided to pull the trigger on an e-cig. I picked up a KR8 from V2. Ten puffs later and I was convinced this was going to work. So far, so good- and I'm loving every bit of it.

After my first twenty-four hours on the V2, I ordered an Ego-C and a ProVari, with lots of bells and whistles. I've spent a lot of the day reading posts here and purchasing small amounts of e-liquid from different suppliers. I'm trying to find "the one" but I suspect there may end up being multiple "the ones" :)

Without a drop of regret, I'm certain I've spent over $500 already. That's OK by me, I'll get it back and more without spending $5/pack on smokes and (eventually) without paying heavy premiums on insurance.

For me, the vaping alternative is nothing short of a miracle. I really didn't think I'd ever be able to quit and wasn't looking forward to trying Chantix either.

I owe many of you a big thank you. In addition to the tons of valuable information I've found here, many of the threads and posts here have been inspiring and motivational to me. The last few days I've spent my mornings reading this forum and following links while I sip my coffee and vape. This is an exceptional community, and you're saving lives.

I've got lots of questions to ask, and a lot yet to learn, but I think I know where to come to for that :)

You are my hero! It took me a month to decide to get the ProVari! I'm still waiting for it to be delivered, but I'm so very happy!

Thank you! The ProVari is a beautiful piece of technology. It's totally like a mini light saber :) I've set it aside for now while I await a tank and some blank cartomizers in the mail- hurry up mail!!

I dont know how you can do it. I think I'd be out buying some VG at Walmart just to be able to fire it up!!
But what's the ego for? A poor cousin? A backup? The beach? Strolling through a bad neighborhood? :)

on the OP; I read this story a half hr ago or so and just sat here thought about my own opening experience. It is just simply fan-freakin-tastic that is seems to be working for SO many of us and I am confident we have more to not follow but join in this effort. I figured it out the other night that it was a 38 yr old habit; since I was 10 yrs old.... yea, yea 50 is knocking at my door. But after so many FAILED attempts finding this world of peeps gathered together to find in vaping I too am so very grateful for it and this forum. I am a skeptic and a smarta$$ but with that said I am humble and very thankful.

Welcome, CONGRATS and take what you need from here and leave the rest for another on thier way here.

Cheers! :toast:

Thank you, thanks to all of you :)

I couldn't agree more. I'm trying to get my wife, father, brother and mother (yep, all smokers!) on board too and hoping their experience will be the same as my own.

It's really remarkable to me, I'm sitting here dumbfounded at easy this transition was and how much we've accomplished. Heh, four days without smoking and I haven't re-lit a single .... in the ash tray - unbelievable! :2cool:

Every smoker should at the very least be aware of the e-cigarette option, what it has to offer, and how far it has come. :vapor:
