Well, I'll introduce myself anyways. My name's Mike, I'm from the big flat of Alberta, Canada. I switched to vaping on New Year's eve. A friend of mine explained the virtues and showed me how it works (she's on here somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember her username) and I was convinced.
Now I still occasionally have a cigarette/cigar, but it's mostly for novelty sake, and I always ask myself why I thought that it was ever a good idea in the first place. I started off on the eGo 1100mah batteries, and the nice gentleman at CanVape sold me a cartomizer sampler kit, pretty much one of each of the carto's he carried. Burned through those in less than a month by playing around, wrecking a few, and just plain not liking some (ce3's are crap in my opinion) but I settled on the Kanger horizontal cartomizers. Best flavor, least juice in my mouth, and longest life (these things seem to last for weeks as long as you keep them topped up). Tried out a few different flavors as well, found that I really do not like anything with menthol or mint in it, and definitely not Spiced Rum /shudder... So far my favorites have been an Irish Cream flavor, and the Rugged Blend signature mix from Gentlemen's Reserve. I also had a sample size of Earl Grey Tea that I really enjoyed, but I have yet to order more of it.
The other day, one of my eGo batteries quit working. Word of advice to anyone new to using an eGo or any type of 510 battery: Don't Screw Carto's On Tight! It breaks the seal around the centre contact, and then it will never seal properly again and will actually get pushed further into the body, which will either short it out or cause it to not make contact with your carto/atty/whatever. I made this mistake with both of my brand new batteries, and forever after I had to occasionally pry that centre contact back up with a little screwdriver. So now, after I've wet my feet and got a feel for what I am doing, I decided to upgrade to a LavaTube, or some variation of it at least. I'm waiting for the order to come in, and I'm pretty excited to try out vaping at variable voltages! That along with some new flavors and some new carto's (going to give the Vision Clearomizer another chance, as well as try out the Vision Stone Tank V3) and it's looking like my vaping future is going to be bright.
