My birthday is coming up next week. I've been planning on getting a nice, blue Cloupor clone for myself. As many of you know I've been following the news of these clones for over a month in anticipation.

Up until yesterday that is.

Yesterday I made a trip to my local B&M, a place called UVapez. They've had some Cloupor clones a week or two ago and I wanted to see if they were getting more, especially one in blue. They said they didn't have any plans on getting any more of those clones, however, next week they are expecting a shipment of.....

THE 50 watt, dual 18650 DUKE!

Now comes a hard choice...

Do I go with the blue Cloupor that I've been wanting, or do I spend another $60 and get the 50W Duke?

What do you vape?
dna 30 is ok for around 1 ohms and up imo... for decent batt times. If you go lower than that even way down there, you will find 18650 batt charge will be less time than a mech.

If you go above then the Cloupor is a great item. imo

So if you can handle the guidelines for sub ohms, batt specs etc, the Duke is killer from what I've seen.

I have a Cloupor hana clone and really like it, especially for my kayfun. Haven't tried the Duke tho. Pretty sure the Duke mod uses an OKR-T10 regulator, that being said, you can DIY this mod for $30-$35. You can find the OKR-T10 regulators for $12 on digikey and there's a thread on here about building them too (google search OKR-T10 and it will lead you right back here to ECF). This is the same regulator used in the Hexohm and Axiz mods. Seems cheap enough to DIY to me since there's a $100 mark up on these mods.

The Duke, hands down. You will get almost two days of vape bliss with a Duke (as long as you build it right). I have a Ranger and it has the same chip, etc and really like not having to change batteries all day long.

To give you an idea - I have a .7 build running at 4.3 volts (regulated) and can go just about 36 hours as my primary device. Only downside is you will go through a TON of ejuice :)

Reo is my "tube killer" (along with the Raptors) but the DNA30 seems to fall by the wayside for me since i vape sub ohms and batt times are less than a mech.

Reo's come in sub ohms capable now and I love it! I keep em in my Truck/Car for the road.

OKR-T10 I hear is pretty awesome and the Raptor is 20amp i believe...

Not knowing about tech stuff, I would guess that like most regulated devices, the batts last a little less than a straight mechanical mah-for-mah because of the boosting and stuff?

ie. does a double 18650 regulated last as long as a mech tube going through 2 18650's both using same coil resistance?

No mech mod can compare to a high watt regulated device IMHO. You get the same vape on fresh batteries all the way until they die. A 50 watt regulated with dual 18650's will last over 24 hour which can not be said by a Reo or DNA30. It really isn't about building super low ohm builds with these, it is about making it a efficient as possible. Efficiency comes from the right ohms/watts setup. Trying to do a .3 build at 6 volts is not the way.......

For the people who say "I don't need 50+ watts", don't turn it up and get all the benefits! I run mine at 25 watts (.7 coil @ 4.3 volts) currently and have not switched batteries since Friday morning. Same exact vape quality without carrying batteries :)

Raptor chips are beast. Got a box mod with the raptor in it and it is awesome. I can sub ohm as low as i want, just cant crank it to high when you go below .3. It can fire well beyond its suggested limits too.

But yes, i think okr chip based mods are better than dna30's/other 30 watt chips

Not that Raptor chip boxes are everywhere, but maybe share a trait that I found to be slightly inconvenient; even when idle there is some trickle batt drain.
For boxes that don't have an LED readout you have to keep track, and I've been advised to take batts out when left for a long time...

because? not sure but aside from getting too low, is there a danger in using a low batt on one of these? or would it just not fire?

thats another of the few questions I've asked...

of course I am a fan, i have 2, just curious. I think these type of high watt boxes are going to be all over the place soon.

I dont know why people dont put in low voltage cut off aka zener diode at the very least. It will keep firing without a cut off. I have an led screen with a 3 way switch. One to see the voltage to the 510, then off, then one for battery voltage.

yeah i have the same one keynith; Rapture from CV forum! sweet.
I have a Dreambox raptor too; no LED but nice. Aluminum box.

I read a few posts from Mamu who designed the specs for the one Rapture does, and she was having lots of trouble finding a proper cut off; I don't know the first thing about electronics, but its been a bear trying to cure that issue. so far.
