I have not thrown it around the shop, but it should be pretty damn durable. I would not recommend running it over though.
Yes, the "rollbar" does protect the switch. Check the PrOn thread, there is a red one I did a test with. I since went to a different version that looks much better.

I should clarify. I wrote to Jeff saying I don't really associate gears with steampunk and wanted to know if a full wrap of tubes and stuff would look good or awful. The fact that he was already working on adding metal to make a steampunk Chuck (and protect the switch) was entirely his doing. I don't want to imply that I'm taking credit for Jeff's creative artistry -- especially as I have zero creative artistry.


(And I'm not being self-deprecating. I have a good eye. I just can't translate that into anything concrete.)

The only limit to Steampunk is your imagination... there is some great stuff here!!
