Hi Friends to be,

How are y'all?! I'm a noob vaper that's looking forward to learning all about e-cigarettes and vaping. The only vape or e-cigarette I've tried before is an EonSmoke JUUL, which was fine. Now, I'm looking at getting out of smokes and into vapes to hopefully save some $$$.
Welcome to ECF, this is the best place, tell us a bit, do you have a vape, wondering to get one, let us know a bit more!

Regards,

It’s hard not to save money using just about anything other than non refillable pod systems.

In order of savings:

Refillable pod systems- significant savings.
Refilling the pods dramatically lengthens the life of a pod so there is a lot of savings there.

Coil cartridge systems- more savings.
Coil cartridge systems have a bunch of advantages over pod systems. The cartridges produce much better vapor and tend to last longer than a refillable pod while simultaneously costing less

APV systems (RTA and RDA)- a lot more savings.
These do away with the coil cartridge so instead of unscrewing and replacing both wick and wire you do them separately. It’s more complicated but the materials cost pennies instead of dollars, and the vape quality is potentially improved again.

DIY juice- the biggest savings of all
DIY juice has several advantages.
1) You have much more control of what goes into the juice so you can use higher quality materials and get a better product.
2) The cost is MUCH lower. Part of this is excise taxes, but DIY juice can cost anywhere from 1/2 to 1/10th what premixed juice does.

DIY juice can be a particularly big deal if you vape DL because it tends to use a lot more juice, and frequently MTL and DL juices cost the same per ml.

You can use DIY juice with any refillable system.

I personally use APVs and DIY my juice. It costs me about a 50¢ a month for wick and wire (probably less I’m just guessing off hand) and a 60ml bottle of vape juice costs me about $2-$3 to make. I vape DL generally and I vape heavily so that bottle usually lasts me about 3-4 days. So kinda randomly call it around a dollar a day to vape. When I smoked i smoked 3 packs of lucky strike straights a day. They were about $3/pack at the time, but I understand that number has gone up a lot. (It was a long tome ago) So even if it was still the last 80’s for cigarettes and now for vaping I’d still be saving a ton of money.

Coil cartridges last a pretty variable amount of time depending on type of juice(more controllable with DIY) model of coil, and the user in question. The highest I’ve heard of is 2/week, the lowest is several weeks. My sister was doing some of the higher numbers but she would vape those coils till they were a gummy black mess so I’m making her change her coil once a week whether she thinks it need it or not.
They usually cost between $1.25 and $5 depending on model of coil and where you buy them.

Great you are here! You should look for products that don't remind you of the word "smoke".. That's the first thing you need to know.
I’m happy to be a bit more blunt about this one:

There is a manufacturer with the brand name SMOK.

They make some of the poorest quality devices that exist. They have a reputation for falling apart literally in weeks. They also apparently do it on purpose. They make their products cheap, they make em pretty, and they make them very very poorly. They apparently do it because they think you will simply buy another one when the first one breaks.
Hint: skip the middle man: don’t buy them at all. Literally EVERYTHING else is higher quality.

Hello and welcome to ECF! Its nice to meet you...

There is a plethora of vaping choices, you can get as easy or as difficult as you like.. and what seems difficult never is once you learn the ins and outs..

You will want to decide what your likes and dislikes are - and some of that you will find out from experimentation, so it's a journey truly, a road to freedom from addiction to the cancer sticks.

I smoked two packs a day for 32 years, and have been smoke free for 5 years... you can do this, and it's so fun once your into it!

Enjoy your time here, ask all the questions you like, and explore - be a part of the journey.

Your next step from a Juul is going to be something like the Innokin Gala, or the Geekvape Flint... if you find you like an airier draw you can explore further options, but I think there is a ladder we all go up, and it's good to take them one step at a time..

Good luck to you, and welcome once more..

Welcome and glad you joined.
You can vape for as little as a few pennies a day to a dollar or more. Just depends on how much effort and vaping needs you require. The information below may help you learn more about vaping:
