Does anybody know what the largest needle(gauge) that can fit through the hole on a large hole 510 connector as sold by madvapes? What the diameter is of that gauge needle, and what tubing would fit the outside of this needle? I would appreciate anything that you know. If not I'll post back after I hit a local store up (tractor supply I think).

Thanks

I know this was posted somewhere else, but I couldn't find it, maybe this will help somebody...
14 gauge = Inside Diameter .067 in./1.70 mm, Outside Diameter .083 in./2.11 mm, KDS14, Area 0.003525652
15 gauge = Inside Diameter .060 in./1.52 mm, Outside Diameter .072 in./1.83 mm, KDS15, Area 0.002827433
16 gauge = Inside Diameter .053 in./1.35 mm, Outside Diameter .064 in./1.63 mm, KDF16, Area 0.002206183
17 gauge = Inside Diameter .045 in./1.14 mm, Outside Diameter .060 in./1.52 mm, KDS17, Area 0.001590431

I calculated the area in square inches to get an idea how size changes stuff.

Now I need to search on here for some tubing sizes

I went to a Tractor Supply and they had needes at 16, 18, 20, and 22 gauge. I emailed MadVapes and they said that a 16 was the largest. I do have a 16 and it fits inside the 510 connnector easily.

I also stopped at a local hobby store and they have a very small silicone tubing made for fuel, it seems to be about 1/16 ID. I picked it up, but it has a scary warning on the back cover. Because it's made for fuel, fuel may have gone through it, and is known to cause cancer in the state of california. I'll probably try it after a good alcohol cleaning, until I can get the Tygon tubing. Are you guys using the 1/16th x 1/8th or the 1/16th x 3/16?

poland, and the brassy lands of google
I really don't think the 15G will fit the large hole connector without enlarging the hole, 16G is the most comfortable fit. MV had 14G and 15G, perhaps no more.

Here's a chart, but be aware of the thin wall needle caution: Needle gauge comparison chart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If your tubing is new it hasn't had fuel in it but should be cleaned well of any production residues. Tygon I'm not familiar with, but 1/16" teflon spaghetti tubing is fairly popular for feed systems, I don't quite recall from where. hope this helps some.

Thanks for the info, and link, it all helps.

I found the Tygon from searching on this forum. Here's a link Tygon® Sanitary Silicone Tubing 3350 | U.S. Plastic Corp.

Yea the tubing is new, but the package has that warning on it. In any event it is nice translucent baby blue tubing. Has a nice feel to it. I agree, I'm cleaning everything with alcohol, then a boil.
