Hollywood Butts Out: How Johnny Depp, Drew Barrymore, Brad Pitt & More Are Breaking the Habit - MSN Movies News
This article talks about Katherine Heigel, too, but I found it because I was looking to see how Kris Jenner (the Kardashians' mom) quit smoking. I had on E! while working and an episode came on where the girls were trying to get Kris to quit. Here was where the ignorance about the dangers of cigarettes showed painfully. In an attempt to shame mom, Kim thought it'd be a good idea to pretend that her 14 year old sister was trying smoking because her mom smokes. So, she bought Honeyrose Herbal cigarettes, rationalizing to dad Bruce Jenner that they "don't contain nicotine" so they are safe. Too bad Kim and Bruce have been so brainwashed by the anti-nicotine rhetoric that they exposed the 14 year old to the 5mg of tar and whatever else was in the herbal cigarettes, thinking that "nicotine-free" means less dangerous.
The public still is painfully unaware that the danger is from everything ELSE in ALL cigarettes, NOT the nicotine!!
Turns out Kris is using Nicorette. Maybe she needs to know about e-cigarettes, but Bruce and Kim need to know that they didn't reduce the sister's exposure to toxins by getting "nicotine-free" cigarettes. Thankfully, the sister only took a couple of puffs - not enough to hurt anyone - but who knows if she won't try them later, thinking that they are "safe?"
