So I started vaping like about a week ago, and it's going great. But I'm still smoking like 1-2 cigs a day. Well, the first .... log is in the morning with coffee, but I'm pretty sure that I can kick that pretty easily soon. After that, here's the thing. I don't ever actually FEEL like I want a cig but mentally I am always thinking that I SHOULD smoke a cig, like I just think about it alot. I know all the posts that say "don't worry about it" and I am really not, but I just smoked a cig but didn't really want one at all, but I just thought that I should smoke one (a 3rd today, and didn't actually want the 2nd or this 3rd). I didn't really like it or anything, but it took care of the idea that I should have smoked one (after not having one in like 15 hours or so)... Or also, when I don't want one, I will still smoke my 2nd one right before work just because I am worried about it, like I always used to smoke before work and freak out towards the end (of work - where I couldn't smoke) (but know I can sneak a vape, but just knowing that it is fine even if I don't have the opportunity at the moment I know I can sneak off eventually and don't even need to vape or smoke, just knowing that I can get my nic fix if I need to, so I don't do either at work anymore usually - just knowing that I can [vape] really helps)... So I break it down I guess to that I never FEEL like doing it but still think I NEED to. (Going outside to vape actually helps alot right now, because half of the "think" is thinking "why am I not outside smoking right now?")

Anyways, FEEL vs THINK is what this is coming down to now I think. I'm not too worried as it has been so friggin easy with PVs so far (got the 510) and congrats to everyone else out there that is off the .... logs and thanks so much to this forum.

1.5 packs a day/11 years

1-2 cigs a day now, after a week (not too bad).

Thanks guys!

Any insights on this specifically?

PS
PVs are the best invention since Chinese innovation! Pretty friggin awesome.

In your bushes, watching you undress
1) .... logs sound like they might be painful. :D

2) When you 'feel the need' to smoke, grab the e-cig, that's what it's there for. If it is not satisfying the urge, step up to a higher mg of juice. If that doesn't work, consider a hot-rod like an AdaptEver, Screwdriver, Silver Bullet, Copper, Prodigy, VAPRE51/VP1, VP2, Chuck/Little Chuck, or something like that. You'll get more vapor (more 'smoke' feeling entering/exiting your body), way more throat hit, and more flavor.

I've just not had to worry about it in so long, but many in here recommend trying a higher mg of juice and hitting that when you get the feeling you need a regular smoke. You might try that just to start with...

Take care,
- Hap

Thanks so much! I read that alot too. I vape ALOT at 24mg and thats the thing, it works so well. Even dropping it down to 18 during the day. Like someone else said, vaping like a fiend works well, which is what I'm doing (except at work, but am fine knowing that I can if I really want to) and I almost never feel an actual physical urge to smoke. I don't FEEL like smoking ever. I just THINK that I should be doing so, but have no real urges to do so. Maybe I am making a stupid distinction and just need to vape for a bit longer, but I was thinking about this in terms of addiction. It's just the thought that I should be smoking a real cig after so long not smoking one that gets me. I don't know why I smoked a 3rd cig today (the 2nd was before work for worrying about work and the first was the morning coffee, which I think I can kick easily) except for thinking that I should be smoking one (I didn't want to, didn't care, but thought I should have been doing so) - I feel like such an addict! :p

Thanks for the imput and take care, friend.

Stupid .... logs! Actually, for the first time, I smoked one this morning and it felt like crap. I couldn't finish it, my first .... log I couldn't finish ever and felt crappy. I think the PVs are damn miracles. Yes, it was painful.
:)

I've been thinking about the big vaporizors, but the 510 works, I have no urges, just trying to get over the silly thinking that I should be smoking tobacco because I am so used to it. The more I type, the more silly it seems, these things work so well, I think maybe I am just being lazy about not trying enough, as it is so easy to switch over, but does require a tiny bit of effort/care (but only a tiny bit - suckers on the patch!).

Well what I do is treat the PV like a real analogue. I take smoke breaks from my desk. I still have lots of friends in the smoking area at work who are watching to see “How long this will last” The thing is that the PV is just so much better that the analogue smokes I used to use. I was a 1.5 pack a day smoker for about 27 years. For me it is not about the medium I use for relaxation but the habits involved. I switched Aug 18th 2009 and I’ve only had 2 analogues since and both times they tasted like crap and I tossed them almost as soon as I lit them.

I started with a 510 and have moved to the Vstick2. and am looking at some of Bandit’s suggestions for greater volume of Vape.

But for me the Vape goes great with coffee and beer.

Life is good!

Thanks! That's what I try to do and it helps so much. Actually, my roomate is a smoker, and a smokingeverywhere failure, but actually after a long time thinking about going back after seeing my success... But it helps alot going out to "smoke" with her and doing the same in most situations, especially driving. But the SE girl thought it would only last a couple days of hype, like the "see how long it will last" idea... But that's a whole other topic I think... She kinda understands now that SE sucks and that not all PVs are the same...

Thanks for the imput! Great advice, and I will try to use it more like that, that's a good idea

Still thinking about a big PV... off topic - can I get a PV mod that takes regular batteries that I don't have to order? Like a GG or Janty or something that will take a AA or AAA? I'll be back in South America soon enough and can't really get mail there and would love a mod that fits standard AA or AAA batteries. Does that exist?

But really, does anyone know of a big vape mod that I can throw AA or AAA batts into when I am in a place where I can't order stuff, where mail is not so good?

Quite simply, NO. The life and performance of alkaline batteries are so horrid that they simply are not worth it. They'll probably last 20-30 mins of crappy vaping. Just get a couple chargers and like 10 batts and you should be set for a couple years lol.
