Posting here since I can't post in DIY.

So I got my Glycerin today, along with some orange extract, followed a recipe of 80% glycerin 20% distilled water, 10% flavor. Well the flavor wasn't really there, so I added till it was "acceptable" at least.

I got no throat hit which kind of sucked. The vapor is very low as well.

Now I hear adding vodka will give a throat hit, i'll try that later this week when I can run to wine and spirits but until then I need to figure out something 'cause i'm going nuts low on juice waiting for my pay check next week so I can order more.

Secondly, once I order more juice, can I simply say double to liquid I bought with glycerin and add in maybe vanilla extract to keep the flavor? or do I have to get crazy and technical?

Well, I was trying this with 0nic to experiment. using only vg water and flavor. Taste is fine, I don't care how the vapor is, so long as I get at least a decent throat hit. I was just under the impression that even without nic or vodka I could still produce a th. Though I did some fiddling with it and I now get more vapor than i've ever gotten from premade mixes.

I've been trying to read the diy section up and down but some of it's fairly confusing.

If I were to mix this concoction with a bottle of premixed, would I still get a good TH? Even if I, let's say for the sake of argument made a batch of 3oz 0nic, and dumped a 5ml 32mg premixed? If not, how much per ml would be required to obtain a standard th?

What is in the orange extract? Extracts are not easy to get a good juice with. Most generally use pure flavors, like Loranns. Also orange itself is a tough flavor to get right, since it can be a water-insol oil, and is not a popular flavor in general as it is often both too bitter and weak.

You are better off starting DIY with Loranns or Capellas flavors. I think you should try that before you try to tweak the TH. But good one you for making the DIY jump! ;)

To be completely fair, I looked at 5 different stores today and all I could find was McCormick extract in other flavors than Butter! haha. It's 79% alcohol, water, and oil of oranges. Yes I know extract isn't the best due to it's oils but I was really itching to try! I mixed this with some Vanilla extract to make a somewhat Orange cream taste, which btw is pretty good - just not very strong.

I figured, for 3$ to buy a bottle of glycerin. I could have a little fun and experiment my heart out, or lungs in this case?

I'll be ordering some Loranns butterscotch soon enough!

Just my 2 cents...

Leave out the water. I've had trouble vaping things ive made that I've added distilled water too.

Dunno if it's just me...but you might want to give it a try.
I used pga instead of the water...or vodka.

I agree. A VG juice can be thinned with ~10% alcohol. And since the extract is primarily alcohol, the OP can try using it at about 10%...it will flavor and thin the VG at the same time. If mixing extracts, try not to exceed 10% total extract volume, or it will be too thin and not vape well. That is the trick to using extracts for flavoring. Careful of sugars in some of them. But the flavor might still be pretty weak. Often the best you can do with extracts is sort of make a background flavor, which you then add pure flavors to, like Loranns.

On a personal note, I use distilled water to thin. Alcohol dries my mouth out a lot and makes me a little spacey (not everyone has this response). I use 15% distilled water, and my VG juices are great. Vape really well, good nic hit if I want it.
