Does anyone know if earth's care 100% natural vegan glycerin will work for vaping? is vegetable glycerin and this the same?

Vegetable Glycerin is vegetable glycerin.....what can be different, and important, is the level of impurity. Looking for U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) grade glycerin. It can be natural, vegan, whatever.....just as long as it's USP. That means it has tested at least 99.896% free from dangerous diethylene glycol (DEG) and ethylene glycol (EG).

First glance, the 100% BS is BS, so that would have me, myself, and I looking elsewhere for a source that knows something about chemistry and less about marketing.

Actually did a search and looked at it and it confirmed my first glance. I wouldn't use it for making juice. There is no USP designation. (Minimum purity for USP is 99.5%) Makes me think the 100% is for the "natural" part or the "vegan" part. You can get natural vegan VG from a bio-fuel processor's wastegate and it will work just fine for a skin conditioner.

If you want to make sure it is all veggy sourced VG, the easiest way to tell is if it has a Kosher label somewhere near the USP designation. The kosher designation can't be put on glycerin that is sourced from animal fat because the record of treatment isn't passed along with fat trimmings.

I use RTS vapes for flavorings (the flavor apprentice brand) and nic base, amazon for pg and vg - make sure you read up on safe handling of nic base in diy section and make sure equipment (and work space) is clean and sterile - I have separate syringes for each component in mix (also available online with blunt needles for smaller sizes 1-6cc or ml - larger size 30ml available at local vet supply store for pg with 12ga needle and use lab glassware from rts for measuring the vg)

pipettes are a pain and inaccurate and a waste of money

download the excel file by Scubabatdan for mixing ratios - very useful

what exactly do I need to make my own juice? VG/PG flavoring and nic, or do I need to get sweetener and still water too?

VG, PG, flavoring and nic base are the main ingredients. After that there are a bunch more that are useful. Also you need containers for the juice you'll be making (I like glass bottles) and fluid measuring tools like syringes and mixing calculator software is extremely useful.

The main sub-forum here that FlamingoTutu linked to is where you will find all the information you could ever want about this stuff. If you'ld like to get some good basic info without dong all that research Hoosier has a great blog on it here. You really should do more research on juice making than that though. There are safety concerns and a lot more data that will stand you in good stead to know.

Best of luck with it and have fun :thumb:
