I have two if that tells you anything. Provari would be my number one choice for VV. It's very easy to use and easy to dial in the right voltage for you. Everyone seems to have a different voltage they like.

It's a very well built mod. I've dropped mine (unintentionally) several times, it just keeps on working. I have the original version with a satin finish, not the chrome or black. The finish has not been marred at all by the dropping. It feels good in your hand (some say it's too heavy). I use the extended cap the majority of the time, but in the evenings after a long hard day, I switch to the smaller battery and regular end cap.

I'm sure others will come along and provide a better description, and others will most likely mention some of the other VV mods. Everyone favors different mods so that's to be expected.

You can easily spend a ton of money on Mods, I sure have (see sig). I also use all the ones in the sig below. I wish 2 years ago the Provari had been available, I sure could have save a lot more money. As it is, I am just now breaking even, that probably won't last because I like to try the new mods coming out. But, suffice it to say, I have found my go-to Mods. Quite happy!

Been using it alittle more than 6 months. It's a very high quality, well made product. It's a handful for sure, especially with the extended battery. With an XL Tank and DT installed, it's not exactly a stealth device in public. I actually wasn't able to quit smoking until getting the ProVari. JMHO

Thx for the responses guys! Everywhere i checked the praises for the provari's were so abundant i thought they might be, shall we say, "influenced".

But i'm not worried at all about the size, i'm pretty sure my indulgance is much larger since i only use an extended casing and 6v all day everywhere.

The biggest thing that i think i will like is that i can vape at any voltage i like (I have mostly been using 6v for a while now) and that i can turn the button off, because i can't recollect how many times i've nudged against the switch on my indulgance in my pocket for too long and all of a sudden i smell the cover of the carto melting lol. But overall the pravari really does seem worth a try.

The Provari can be turned off from the menu, no chance of firing.

I have two- don't save- buy one now- charge it today so you can have it by monday or tuesday......
it will pay you back before you have to pay the credit card.....

I was a beta tester and have been using it as my main vape since November. I'm not going to tell you it doesn't have some idiosyncrasies- it does, but overall, its hard to find a tube device or a VV that will beat it at any price. It's pretty much the standard by which other vendors measure themselves. It will change the way you vape and you will have a hard time using non VV devices after you get used to the consistency of the ProVari.

Additonally, Provape support is terrific. I have broken mine-let's just say I had it in my hand when I was angry and needed to smash something... They fixed it (including a new pc board) and had it back to me in a week- including mail .....and they charged me alot less than I thought it was going to cost....

If you want to keep the size down, the 18490's and the standard end cap will do. However, don't say I didn't warn you- once you get used to the size, you will want the 18650 end cap and 18650 batteries. RE the size- somewhere on the provari thread I posted pics next to a V3- it's actually small compared to many non VV 18650 devices - you will get used to it.

Another thing to keep in mind is the ProVari wasn't made to run LR atties- it may work but that's where the "idiosyncrasies" start showing up....
you'll want to use either standard 2.7 or HV atties- & you'll get longer battery life out of standard atties- I run mostly Ikenvape 3.5's right now, and occasioinally Greehouseone 4.5's.....

Last but not least, I have the chrome and the standard matt finish stainless steel- the chrome is nice to look at and feels good but it draws attention and can be a bit slippery when your hands sweat- I find myself wiping it down constantly becaue it's also a finger print magnet and it can scratch. The steel is media blasted - kind of like a teflon coating- its easier to hold and won't scratch- I'd start with the standard media blasted version....

good luck!

FWIW: I have a ProVari and the Darwin. I prefer the Darwin.

While the ProVari is an excellent PV, not having to think about voltage vs wattage and then remember what combinations you can and can't use on the ProVari is nice. I get all that w/ the Darwin. Set it, and don't worry. The passthrough ability is very nice as well.

You won't be disappointed with the ProVari, but since I got my Darwin, mine has been collecting a bit of dust.

Basil- I never pictured you a a Darwin kind of guy!

I'll put my two provari's against your darwin and raise you an EQ!
While we're at it, if he starts saving now for an EQ he can probably get in on the next run ;-)

Darwin certainly has its fans.- they all wear Devo hats and failed high school agebra ;-)

Either way, you won't have to take a beating selling any of them on in the classifieds if you don't like them....

I'm vaping on a Provari right now. Fantastic VVPV.

The only thing I would say is that it is a tad big for carring around when your out and about. For that I use my Ego.

Provari + eGo = Perfect Combo.

BTW - I paid just over $200 for a Basic Provari, 2 AW IMR High Drain Batteries, Battery Charger and and eGo Adapter.

Best 2 Bills I ever spend.

I've looked into the darwin, and is just not for me. I like the tube mod feel and I like that if a battery fries (which has happened multiple times on my indulgance) I can just swap it out. I can't charge one now, I don't do credit cards ( I can't be trusted to preserve my credit lol) but ill be ordering one in a week or so.

I have 2 of em.. for 6 months now... no regrets, and like jimho says, it'll be easy to forget about any other device.
There are others, in fact the Buzz Pro is a sweet one too, and they have Infinity Pro, and a top feeder VVPV coming out soon with same internals...
these are called "smart" pv's for more than one reason but the most important imo is because each vape is boosted to the voltage desired regardless of batt discharge cycle.

Oh btw Provape is coming out with a new Li-ion 18650 for the Vari....stay tuned.

before i purchased my provari... i looked at the darwin.... i just shook my head and said I cant do it... And purchased a provari... I have since added a UFS and a vapemate. Still trying to figure out the UFS so Im back to the vapemate right now. O and got a reo mini coming from classified I hear they are great PV's to bad the reo doesnt have VV that would be awesome.
