I've waited as long as I care to and i need something new, now. The Precious Lv2 is my idea of a perfect PV and I am having difficulty finding anything that compares to the feature set and styling with the exception of the ProVari.

What I've got...

Protege (or Prodigy? who cares, I have much disdain for either as well as PS all together)
The BB (solid but my GF uses it and I am craving vari voltage)
eGo
Regular 510/Joyes
Indulgence (biggest waste of money since PVing)
Pass throughs (PS and cheapo 510s)
My own detonator type mod (working better than any of the above at 3.7v)

What I want....
The closest possible match to the Precious Lv2 possible. If that is the ProVari, so be it. I just need input because wading through 5,000 pages is not my idea of fun trying to find out what the latest and greatest is.

Your input is appreciated!

I just bought a Megalodon from electronicstix, and am very pleased so far. It can take a wide range of batteries. It is a bottom button mod.
I've also read a lot of very positive reviews of the Precise mods from SuperTManufacturing. They are very similar to the Precious in size, being one of the smaller battery mods for the size of battery used. They are, however, also a bottom button mod.
Hope this helps.

OK I have the Vari and this thing is awesome. It is a MOD that is truely well done and performs better than my expectations. Works with all cartos and atty's (510) and you can EASILY change voltages with a few presses of the button to dial in the sweetspot for any atty/juice combo. The display is bright and clear and the voltage readings are dead on. Also gives batt level readout, atty/carto resistance. I also just ordered the infinity from Notcigs. It is being released this week. It looks really sleek and I am sure it will perform flawlessly too. Since I do not have it in hand I can not povide any feedback other than how nice this unit looks and with the history of Notcigs it should be awesome too.

Thanks ....someone pointed me to this site so I've been reading up....

Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database

It pains me the new Precious has been delayed so long. It really does have every last little thing I'd want. I think ProVari is top of the list right now. I read up a little on the Infinity with reports of juice winding up in the button and behind its PCB....red flag for me. I've got enough hassles wit this Protege button shorting every 5th time I use it and the manual button just plain sucks.

Come to think of it, not liking the ProVari's button so much when I look at it. Just not something I think should be skimped on at this point when touch sensors are available and are so practical for this use.

Actually the photos do not do the button justice. It works and feels very well. If you are concerned about it firing in your pocket a few more button presses allow you to cycle it into off mode. Unless weight is a factor for you I really can not fault anything of the Vari it is nicely done. I know I would not sell it for twice the price I paid. I hope your search delivers what you are looking for. I am also hopeful the infinity has worked out any juice/button/PCB interaction issues.

I'm afraid the Precious is smoke and mirrors at this point. Who knows if and when it will ever be produced. The ProVari's button is actually very nice. Good size and the press is smooth as silk. I wonder about the durability (wear) and how much trouble it would be to replace it, but, that's for down the road. I had a ProVari and ran it through the paces and give it high marks for everything except the weight. It's one heavy PV with the 18650. Some will like it and others like me will choose something else. In the end, the Darwin was my choice.

I ordered a Provari and get more and more excited as I read posts like yours extolling the Vari Virtues. Ha, I claim that phrase "Vari Virtues".

Anyone that is willing to pay for a Lv2 needs help, IMPO. IF it ever materializes, how reliable can you expect it to be? As reliable as it's creator? I, like many others, have had a "pre-order number" but that doesn't mean jack if it never comes to market or doesn't live up to it's specs. Get a ProVari. I have one. I love it. I'll probably order another one just so I can have two.
