Well, I've had the blu for about two months now and all was good. Read a LOT of negative comments about them, but I didn't have any problems, until last night. All of a sudden, the battery pack won't recharge the batteries. No 5 time flashing lights, or side light or nothing. The pack was fully charged. Then the actual batteries started blinking 30 times in a row. WTF??? I know 10 times means over use and 5 times means charging, but 30,,,,yes, I actually counted them. The batteries will charge and work fine on the USB, but that's it. Great. Going skiing next week and was really wanting this thing to work while on the road or taking a break on the slopes. Guess I'll have to make some analogs to take with me and the laptop to charge the batteries at night. Hate to say it, starting to look at the 501 or something. I just ordered and received two atty's and a new battery. Called customer service but said the same thing.....get the RMA, mail it to us and we'll replace it in about 2-3 weeks. Great. Anybody have similar issues or got bought another PV and used some of the blu parts? Are volcanoe any better, but they use the exact same technology and probably the same manufacturer.

Hello I have both a Blu and a Volcano, (l88b) and had a chance to use a new Volcano 510 I love then all but have much better luck with Volcano. Yes all parks form the two companies are interchangeable, and yes they both order their supplies form the same manufacturer, but they are not assembled by the same people, different standards in QC. I have never had a single thing break down on my Volcano yet(gonna on 2 months of use) and my Blu I have had to order new batteries and atty's for(originally bought kit 3 months ago). If you are just looking for a new PCC, Volcano shipping times are about 3-4 days. and most if not all the time ship within 24 hours.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Michael. I started with a blu and have moved on but my girlfriend still uses it, but with Volcano carts and parts. Order a new PCC from Volcano and it should get there shortly. For some reason their starter kits are a bit more pricey than blu's, so rock on that you got theirs, but go ahead and get your accessories from Volcano from now on for great justice.

Dude, that's pretty unfortunate. I have only used two blu batts and they are both my favorite automatic batteries I have ever run into. In my experience difficulty with automatic batteries is often from a very full or flooded addy. Do you, drip, dip, or refill? I have never run into that problem using pre-filled blu carts. Maybe you just got an earlier run of batteries :-\

I have noticed that the mesh on the blu atties starts to degrade long before they reach their end of life. This is likely due to the necessity to twist/remove the foil with them. Those blu batteries are the same design as the volcano, it really does sound like you got two ....ty batteries. My only other guess is that maybe some liquid got up in there, but user created issues shouldn't be that consistent across two pieces of hardware. Neither should manufacturer's defects though! Blue has that easy to use online support, get on there and insist on two new batteries and a postage paid envelope to send the old one back.

I did order a new battery a couple of weeks ago and got it recently. This thing is SENSITIVE. It's like if you even look at it, it goes off. The PCC is working like it should. I also mailed in a atty with the PCC and got a new in return for free, like they advertise, and it works so much better. I'm back on the Blu wagon. I guess with these things, regardless of the manufacturer, your just going to have to replace things over time. What I really need is a longer cart, or at least a longer, bigger cup. Having to refill these things a lot here lately.

IMO volcano batteries are way better than blu's. The volcanos seem to take less suction to activate making it easier to get a nice big hit. With all 3 blu batteries I had I had to suck so hard it seemed like I was thinning out the vapor so much that i got next to no throat hit.

This is 100% accurate. The Volcano batts take much less suction to activate, and the Blu batts actually have a built-in cutoff in an attempt to make each pull feel like an analog. However, we all smoke differently, and for the Blu batts cut off too early. I far, far prefer the Volcano batts -- much easier pulls, less suction, and they last longer by about 15%. The downside is that their sensitivity makes them prone to activate when they're not supposed to -- I've had Volcano batts activate repeatedly when placed in my jeans' key pocket just from walking around and this is not a problem with Blu's batts.

Given a choice, if I had to balance the pros/cons between the two though, it'd be Volcano all the way. My passthrough should be coming in the mail soon too and I already have a 10' USB extension cord, so when at work/inside at home, no more battery worries for me. Win-win.
