Hopefully someone can learn from my mistakes

I'm fairly new to E-cigarettes, found them, liked them and quit the analog ones fairly easy. I thought these things were great. I try to help other people to understand them and try them. So they too might quiet smoking. I had tried all the other conventional ways before without much success as many others have tried too.


I thought that theses things were so great I decided after some research too import them and set up a small booth at a flea market like I had seen a few other venders have done. I made a few small test orders and received the good without any problems. So I talked to a few more people did a bit more research and figured I would give it a shoot and make a larger order and get this flea market venture on the go. I saw this company mentioned on several sites Microcig's. So I looked them up and contacted a man by the name of Ruben. He assigned me a sales agent by the name of Sally. I had some email conversations with them both and asked if the packages would have the words E-cigarettes or Nicotine on the boxes anywhere. They told me they had been doing this for many years and they knew how to ship to Canada. I still insisted that these words not appear on the boxes as Canada was sticky about these things. I was told that they would not have these words on them the descriptions were for unrelated things and even if there was a problem receiving the package they would be more then happy to make a second try. So I felt kind of safe. So I made a large order in Oct. of this year. Never heard a word from them so I tried to contact them. Nothing returned. I later found out it was a Holiday season there I had made the order the day before it started. SO back on track I thought. I waited and waited and still nothing. Back and forth with emails and they were waiting for supplies and them this that and the other thing After a month of this they finally shipped my order. It arrives and I get an email notice. Right on the notice under the description of the package : ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE(WITHOUT NELECT. No sooner do I read it and the phone rings the broker I hired to clear the package refuses to touch it. I contacted several other they will not deal with it at all I have to try and clear the package myself. So I go and do the leg work and Customs tells me Health Canada has restrictions on the importation of E-cigarettes and e-liquids into Canada and I would have to contact Health Canada about the package. I contact Health Canada and they tell me that If I become and established Business with a tax license along with a class 1 medical device license ( base price is $7200.00 + more depending on sales) and have the manufacturer have his products clear Health Canada's inspections then and only then can I get the package cleared. So I am not getting the package. All the time I am keeping Ruben and Sally informed of this.



I contact both Ruben and Sally of Microcig's and show them that someone had marked the good as E-cigarettes at there end. They told me I'm a liar. It's right there on the packing slip but still they clam it is not there fault and told me as soon as they ship it everything after that point is my problem Here is where it gets interesting, I asked what about the guarantee that if the package is stopped and I can not get the good you said you would send out a second attempt. They changed there story to If I send the package back, at my expense ( shipping and tariffs in the amount of over $5000.00us) and for an additional cost of $1500.00us then sure they will resend the original order back to me another way. The original cost was $3000.00us.

This is just information and I have all the documents to back it up and would be more then happy to share it with anyone who doesn't believe this is the truth.


Moral of the story: be very careful who you give your money too as they don't care because they have your money and be very careful dealing with this company because they are not an honorable one.

Importing products and finding quality products is what the business is all about.

Many stores employ agents in China as a go between to insure the quality of the product and that it actually arrives. Many suppliers actually travel to China to make the deal and see the factory.

As for importing, you must have a system in place prior to trying your luck.

I am very sorry for your loss, but it is normal in this business for companies in China to make the sale and ship the product. Clearing customs in China is their responsibility Canadian Customs is yours. Even if it bounces around and gets back to them, you will be paying shipping again if you want your product. It seems there isn't a word for refund in mandarin.

My suggestion is the same as it would be for any other business. Make sure you research everything before you attempt it. Talk with someone already in the business, understand EVERYTHING before you lay your hard earned money down. From what you said, its not so much that the company you ordered from is shady, its more you have experienced how business with China is.

To foreshadow the next obstacle. Unless you are completely certain about the company you are ordering from, you can be shipped a bunch of garbage you can't sell and you have to eat.. There is a "new" e-cigarette manufacture in China every day. Most do not every get the market they need to survive. You are the only one ordering from them, they will ship you whatever they made before the lights get turned off for not paying the hydro. Even a good company can send defective products if they are not making ends meet and are ready to go under.

You are not alone, these all are the very topics that are discussed daily in the supplier's forum and we have all experienced.

Hey GrapeChaser, Ive orderered a few times from the US without problems but never China. My current order is fairly large (about $600) worth of e-cig kits. No juice or in the order. I havent had any of my previous packages opened as far as I can tell. So I'm currenty waiting for it to pass through customs (with a puckered "you know what") lol.
Hopefully this comes in with no problems like the ones you've had.

For any of the other suppliers out there: Are there any measures that you take personally to make sure things go smoothly? PM me please if you dont want to "announce" here in the public forums.

Microcig/Royal Smoker/e-liquid are all the same company and they are lying thieves. I posted a warning the other day. Their juice IS NOT Dekang despite the forged documents they display and I wouldn't vape it if it was free. Very very bad company. . Sally is evil and a lier, the company takes your money and then just leaves you to sit there not understanding that many suppliers have dropped their products due to this and many more after reading such horror stories would be insane to deal with them.

When I was having trouble I told them I was going to post it to suppliers on ECF and they told me "What the place where people only want free samples? You tell your ECF your lies."

They have no clue about running a business, no clue about the e-cig market and only will survive until they cross so many people then they won't have anyone left to rip-off. Good luck making a warranty claim with them too hahaha I just wrote my dealings with them off as a lesson learnt the hard way. The under shipped me product, sent me wrong products(that were cheaper) They are shameless thieves. Sorry you got burned also.

There is actually a thread in the suppliers forms with a few comments about the company, along the lines of what Mopar is saying.

BUT.. that point aside in this instance where they shipped the goods and they got caught in Canada customs isn't necessarily the fault of the supplier in China, that is a separate issue that needs to be addressed before one jumps right into business.

Large commercial orders do provide a different type of challenge that a "ship discretely" approach doesn't always overcome.

Not with these guys, you can ask for a red eGo battery in a orange box, they will send you an 808 battery in a yellow box, then tell you your dumb and ignore your e-mails. Even if you are polite and constructively trying to address the problem it will get you no where. Inexperience has nothing to do with dealing with these people. They are quite simply Vampires and not of the Twilight variety.

Sad to hear to microcig robbed you both mopar and grape

lucky for me i never even considered microcig or royalsmokers... I went for known manufacturers with good reviews so far.

No luck on been able to get any decent amount of e juice past the border thou. All stuck at customs lol. Now i have a few shipments of equipment to get in. Not sure how you guys did it but I do hope i've done it right and they all get in. Hopefully all works out well.

I have plenty of other orders to make, but I feel like I can't take the chance with it currently without knowing if my current orders will even get past customs. Yay to been a nub at this still lol.
