Just choked with Health Canada seizure

Thanks for all the posts, I took a look online and found a company called ciganot who supplies walmarts and london drugs with non nicotine ecigs calling it a smoking cessation aid. I have includer links to the home page and where they sell them in BC.
This bites..... Why do these guys get to import but the rest of us can not ?????. I may not get my shipment but when I find out who I can speak with I`m going to ask some hard questions.

The people who are marketing these have 2 things - an import/export license - and permission to import the items.

That's the difference - and it's the only difference.

Living on the south side of the Great Lakes and listening to a radio station out of London, Ont I tend to watch what you guys go through more than someone from further away from the border.

There's no sort of Freedom of Information Act (even when your package is seized) to know what the charges against it was? You'd have to think that it would be spelled out in black in white in order to make it legal. Canada is a bit more progressive than the US but you'd think it would be a cut and dry thing since it is a legal matter. The law is the law. Our legal systems are close but not the same.

Would the same problems be experienced if you physically crossed the border into the US and brought back a PV on your person? BC is a a big province so no clue how close you might be to the border. And if it is illegal I am not endorsing it, not cause of the legal ramification but because it might land you in jail if it was, but if you live close to the border and a friend on the US side mail to their address and cross the border to pick it up.... But like I said I have no clue if that is A> an option distance wise B> an option legally C>the US might have a similar ban soon and a similar chance of seizure.

I'm just trying to toss some options out there and helping a fellow vaper.

I just went through this mess with customs and Health Canada. One they are not seizing your package they are just not allowing you to have it cleared. If it is just 1 e-cigarette without any liquid just tell them it is for personal use and they will allow you to clear it. If it is more then one they assume you are importing for the purpose of re-sales to the Canadian public. To do so you have to be an established business with a Tax License along with a Class1 medical license at a base cost of an annual cost of $7200.00CAN after you get these two items you have to have the manufacturer in China submit his products for inspection to Health Canada. Once they are pasted and you have all your documents then and only then will they allow you to clear your package.. Good Luck I told them I hope they enjoy mine.

Looks like it comes outta a commonwealth country, might make a diff, I myself have had zero problems from uk/eu/us, never tried china tho heard too much hullabaloo to attempt it.

By the way, the electronic cigarettes being sold in Canada, at least the ones I saw, SmokeNV, are sold in the smoking cessation section, right next to all the other cessation products. I can't think of any product sold in that section that's NOT for quitting? Those Hypocrites!!
