Oh Canada
I have a semi-large order being shipped from the US. I get this message on the canada post tracking site "International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs".

Does this mean that it definitely will be opened and looked at? There is no juice in the order, just hardware.

The reason I ask is because a few years ago I ordered a bunch of sunglasses from the US (cost me like $250), on the submission slip the seller wrote the value as $50. I got contacted by customs and they had searched the package and wanted my visa statement showing what I had actually paid. I did get the order eventually but had to then pay duties on the actual price. The vendor I'm getting this package from does the same thing by putting a low cost on the package (I assume most do the same). Now I'm worried that this may happen yet again, or I may not get my package at all.

Any thoughts?

All packages coming from outside Canada say that on the tracking info, They usually clear in a day or 2.
If tracking says reviewed by customs any longer than that, they may have opened & inspected the package.
If that is the case, you will have to wait for Customs to clear it or send you a letter, Canada post won't give you any further information until the package is back in their hands.

Oh good for you ... its a shame that Canada is like this though. I am an American living in Canada and I am truly SHOCKED by the .... you guys (and now me) have to go through with Customs. This never happens in the U.S, we can order whatever we want, whenever we want from whomever we want, and I have never had a package held in Customs, or a duty tax or brokerage fee to pay, and I have ordered literally thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from China over the years.
