Just my own personal thoughts...I've used Hornets, Era's, even Chalice's. From my own perspective, RM2's beat them all hands down. I think it's partly because of the ceramic cup and the wide spaced posts. Not to mention the Phillips screws ( I'd changed out all the screws on the other units and replaced with Phillips) And you can look down inside the cap to look at the coil/wick setup.

And Rob manufactures them and if the least little thing isn't quite right, you send him a P.M. or an email or even a phone call and he takes care of it.

I sold all the other rba's, and use RM2's exclusively.

I have both.
I had 2 Hornets but sold one after getting an RM2 for my lady's new mini I had to have one after trying it. Much easier to work with. The screw off cap is MUCH easier than wiggling off the cap on the Hornet. Much more room and as mentioned above the screw posts, ceramic base, and concave base makes the RM2 much better in my opinion. All that at half the price. I kept one Hornet for my mini Woodvil as the RM2 does not fit it, even the milled version.
I say get the RM2 and forget the Hornet unless you have a mini woodvil.

The RM2's start out as a Chinese dripper atty.

Robert mods them for safety and to work with the REO. He makes sure it is a solid, durable rba that will produce the results that we expect for our REO's.

It is my opinion that what he has given us in the RM2 is right up there with any manufactured as bottom fed rba.

I have not found anything that works as well.

I have an RM2 on my VVGrand and 2 hornets for my minis. I'd take the RM2 over a hornet any day for all the reasons listed above. I also prefer an airier draw like the stock RM2, and had to drill out my hornets a bit. Also, the hornet feeds through one of the posts and doesn't drain away excess juice like a RM2 does.

RM2 is a run away winner, IMO.

Good point. I rely on the way the juice is drained back down the hole. It's the reason why someone would have to go out of their way to flood a RM2.

I just wicked up some ERA and Hornets after using RM2 exclusively for several months. I found the wick height to be more critical with those than RM2 and they are much easier to flood using micro coil and cotton. This was first time I had done micro coil and cotton on them.
