Are you talkin' the CC or Stardust/V2/V3? Have you set your voltage appropriately for your clearo's resistance?
My experience with the Stardust V3 (2.4 Ohm) has been excellent at 3.7V on an Ego C Twist. However, if I go above 4v the hits are harsh and a bit of a burnt taste.
The CC wasn't so good for me. I believe the short wick doesn't replace the juice into the coil fast enough for my style of vaping. I take long slow draws to maximise the vapour in each toot.
Both the CC and Stardust V3 can give harsh hits if the voltage is too high or if you draw too hard.
Hope you sort it out. Clearos are a great alternative to carto tanks for a bit of extra flavour IMHO ;)

i have had a few clearos and resently a k2 knockoff and so far all the knockoffs (vaporbreak, discount vapers) have not measured up to the bonafied visions, havent had a tier 1 kanger yet, gonna try that and a vivi nova next, anyway if yours are the ones with replaceable heads, give the wicks a little pull to make sure the coil isn't to tight, you can also pry a little distance between the coil loops with an exacto knife or pick. i tried triming the wicks a smidge, but couldn't tell any difference. the k2 knockoffs seem to like a higher vg level. it gives a few more hits before that nasty dry one makes you give it a rest.

If your throat hit is too strong/harsh, try raising to resistance or dropping your nicotine level. Also you can adjust your PG/VG ratio for your e-juice. I find 60/40 to be very nice.
Get a LONG wick -> much better performance IMO
Get a TOP coil -> warmer vapor
use the mini viv nova tank clearomizer!! test out the different resistances to see what is most suitable for you.
check your battery voltage. I have 3.7V regulated and I am very happy with it. regulated means voltage doesn't really start off higher then drop. unregulated means the voltage ranges (starts off higher & falls)

In my personal experience, clearomizers are the BEST out of all the systems, so I would reccomend sticking with it. But sometimes people have different preferences.

Sorry for replyin late..I am talking about stardust(long wick) with an eGo C battery..By horrible throat hits,I mean I am getting very harsh sensation on my throat when am doing stardust..initially,I though it might be because of the liquid, but to my surprise the same liquid gave me pleasant vape on the eGo C carto..do I make any sense here, folks?

Then it sounds like you may be getting dry hits. Holy crap, those are awful and will ruin your entire day, I swear. You have to tip and swirl those stardusts a lot to make sure the juice is getting to the top of the wicks and keeping the atty wet.

Also, what ohm is the stardust and what PV are you using with it? It could be too hot.

I'm using the stardust rebuildable at 2.4 ohm on the Ego-T 2, and notice a similar vape. Regulated is smooth throughout the day but if i switch to unregulated it has a burnt taste to it.
