Wow, just had a Riva batt get VERY hot! Put it in a plastic bag and took it right out to the trash can.
    Waiting to hear a bang.

This was a 5 mth old batt in rotation, used it from fully charged till it blinked off- 6 hrs daily. It was from a lite bundle from LF, so it wasn't a cheapo.

This was atypical, i hope. Do they usually just stop holding a charge? Maybe I should just replace batts after 5 mths?

    Here's what happened...

5 months ago, you got the bundle in, ah yes new fresh silky batteries. You cherished them, admired them, showed them that there is love in this world.

Soon came the work, at first the lil guy had tons of spirit for the task at hand, knew the mission & the importance. Then, this lil batt noticed he wasn't the only love. He had other to compete with as to who could run the longest.

As the months passed by, with the daily 6hr routine, his soul went from that of an innocent child, to that of an old chain gang worker. After 5 long months, it seemed to be not much else than slavery.

Depressed, worn & blistered, he watched your new loves come in the mail all silky & new. Was not to long until he decided to "opt-out." He gave you one more chance, but this morning when he saw again the cold manner in which he was being used, he reached deep down inside, and crossed his wires.... :(

In memory of your old good old battery, 2011-2011......

my friends, got so hot it melted the plastic button. he just tossed it away from him, no boom though. i suppose it could happen. i don't know. someone will come along and know the answer to that question. i do know with mods, you have to be careful what batteries you use in those. i have used rivas and egos, (i mostly stick with my silver bullet) and even after hearing what happened to you, and hearing what happened to my buddy, i wouldnt be afraid to use a riva or an ego. :)
