So I was driving to work today and feel something hot on my lap. I pull out my ecig and it is smoking! I quickly pulled the cart off the battery to prevent further damage. After I took it off, the battery was still lit up like I was vaping out of it. Any idea what happened? Could it have to do with the fact I filed down the threads on the battery so my cool carts could fit on it?

I haven't been around much lately, but months back when this was a topic of discussion, I was told that the autos are not sound activated. This was probably around Feb or March though.

Most are, some aren't. From FHE, when I was under a freeway overpass the noise lit up until I got out from under there. I had too unscrew the atty because it was gonna burn out.

Older batteries were pressure actuated (pin/diaphragm) The latest V4L batteries that I've had in my hands were sound actuated (microphone/piezo)

Depending on the generation of battery, filing them down could very well have caused it if metal filings got inside. The fact that you found it necessary to file/sand the battery suggests that it may likely be one of the generation that I've seen that are sound actuated.

If it was the older pressure-actuated battery, it likely had juice inside of it sticking the switch - a common problem with that type of auto battery.

I've never had this problem with V4L, but I used to have it all the time with Blu. While driving in my car I would pick it up, it would be red hot, led blazing and liquid leaking out of it. Couldn't vape at band practice because the vibration of the amp would set them off. Guess I got lucky with V4L and have only the pressure activated autos.
