My first Diamond died in August... It got wet... poor thing blinked into October... now it is fully dead... Wish I could've revived it

Hmmm, I've been wondering about this too.... if I drop one in the sink or tub or something..... (manual, auto, diamond or regular).... what do you think about popping off the ashcap, and blowing the living crap out of it with compressed air? Maybe flood it with isopropyl first to get the water into a more volatile solution?

I'm reminded of a story from Berkley (IIRC) CompSci dept: seems they had a fire, firefighters blasted dozens of Sun servers off their shelves with high pressure water. The staff later set out all the gear on the lawn in the sun for the day with their cases open. That night they found that over 80% of them powered up just fine.

Ms. Jenjen have you tried the post reset method on them? Have owned 38 king diamond and stealth batts and only had 5 that needed the reset, but after that they've all functioned properly. Either I'm very lucky, or there's something else going on....

Plarkinjr sir would suggest using japanese rice (not the instant) in a ziplock bag if you drop your batt into water. Leave it in the bag for a few days to absorb the moisture. Whatever you do, do not use the batt after you've dropped it in water. You will short it out.

All else fails Ms. Jenjen you can send them to me, and if they're fixable will find a way and send them back. The only kd/stealths I haven't been able to revive are ones killed by juice or overcharging.

PM me with your address and I will put it in the mail to you. It is brand new and if you can fix it, it's yours! :)

I dropped one of my batts in dishwater recently( it sat for about and hour before hubby found it) and used it a day later..it's working (manual). But last night I cleaned all my batteries by sitting then in a bit of alcohal thread end down..wiping and using a tiny brush on the threads. They were not happy and blinked and stayed on for a long while. I thought I would have to have a mass burial. Today they seem to be happier. yes I blew thru the button and the ashend to help dry them. That's what I get for doing due diligence!

MK, I'm so glad I saw your post this a.m. The Blue XL that I reported dead earlier in this thread died after I cleaned it - same process you use. In fact, I cleaned 8 of them at one time, and the XL Diamond is the only one that died. Maybe I'll give it a few days and try it again. It just stays on now - blue led just a'blinking away.

They were all old and on life support anyway..I have newer batts that cleaned up just fine. It is a testament to V4L that my old ones, between a year and 6 months old lasted as long as they did! They weren't made to do that..but let me tell you V4L has never made junky short lived batts. My old 901's lasted all of a month at best!
