I am having a couple of problems with my SS GGTS. First of all when I screw in a battery the button and battery get very hot. So hot I have to take it out quick. Second I have the brass tube and end caps. No matter where I screw it with an 18650 it still seems to wiggle . I even tighten it till the point I dented the battery.

Recently I tried to ufs v2 and the liquid leaked into the battery compartment.

Also I tried to use the fuse assembly with 2 springs. Perhaps I am missing an oring? Isnt there supposed to be one between the top battery nipple end on the top cap ? This is with the regular top air control on. I did not notice an Oring set forsale for just the GG.

When you tighten to the battery hold down the button and stop when you hear your atty hiss. Then just go a bit more till it is snug. It is going to have a little bit of wiggle no matter what you do. Leaking into the battery from the UFS I believe is the O rings not being seated right on the connector tank battery post. Might be wrong there, only had mine 1 day. And I don't have a fuse kit so not sure what the answer is on that.

Hey Dan,

It definitely sounds like you are over-tightening you GG and it sounds like it's shorting out your atomizer. That's why your button and the battery get hot so quickly. You need to stop tightening the telescope as soon as you feel resistance if you are using the fuse upgrade kit. I would suggest using Para's method which is to press the button while you are screwing the telescope and stop once you hear your atty fire. You can give it another half a turn if you are using the stock spring instead of the fuse. Also, your battery may be no good anymore. Do you have more batteries?

There will be some play between the threads of your telescope tube and the bottom engraved tube. I don't know the reason why Imeo made it like this but it sounds like that's the way it is for everyone. One thing that helps a little is putting vaseline on the threads.

Your fuse kit should look like in this picture... No o-rings anywhere.

Regarding your UFS leaking, someone else should probably chime in and assist you with finding the solution.

Let us know if any of this doesn't make sense.

Found out it was a bad atomizer on the battery issue. Still wonder about the wiggle.. What if I got a stainless tube.

The atomizer could have been bad from the start (wouldn't be the first time) but it also could have been caused by the center post being pushed up too far due to overtightening of the telescope. If your battery got dented, could have been inflicted by user error. I'm only saying this to explore all possibilities and save you $$$ on atomizers.

My first SS telescope was really wobbly. It was able to lean so much that the top of the telescope was rubbing against the threads of the engraved tube and developed thread marks after about a day or two. It was replaced and the second one is way better but there is still some wiggle as there is an all GGs they way I understand it.

Make sure you loosen the top tube before you put an atty in too. If one doesn't thread in so far and you switch out one that is a little longer that could damage the battery.

I have a magnetic 2 magnet SS buttin. And even with a new atomizer and battery it is now working...but the.button gets slighty warm...top as well but not as much.

You might need to disassemble the button and clean it up... cleaning and maintenance is something you will need to do occasionally since it is an all mechanical device. Also make sure all your contact points are nice and clean.

There are a lot of videos, diagrams, user manual, etc in the stickies too. Those are really helpful. I made a folder on my desktop and saved everything technical so I could look it up easy. Since it is pre owned it wouldn't hurt to make sure all the o-rings are in place and throw a bit of vaseline on the o-rings and threads. There is definitely a learning curve to the GGTS, but it's well worth the effort.

If you are new to GG in general it might be easier starting off with the GGTS and atties. Then work up to the UFS when you get the hang of the GGTS. When I started off I liked my provari 10x better, but after I got used to it and got a UFS, I probably use that 10X more than the provari now.

Best advice I can give you as a new user is to read the Wiki: Golden - E-Cigarette Wiki
Watch the Videos: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/237105-instructional-how-video-links-gg.html
Download the Manual: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gg/186053-ggts-avs-ufs-user-manual.html#post3166722
Download and Print the Illustrations: GG Product Illustrations

I know it can be a daunting task but read as much of the GG forum as you can. there is a wealth of information here and it can be searched if needed.

As far as the o-ring between the Battery pin and the Hex nut on the Top Connector is only for the UFS and not used on the reguar GGTS collection tank.

And above all else, never be afraid to ask questions, we are all here to help as best we can.

PS: Welcome to the Family!!

Dented batteries and too hot to hold and shorted atomizers make me REALLY nervous. I would hit reset and start from square one......take it completely apart and examine everything; clean and check everything, and do Zoranth's list. Screwing up with li-ion batteries can be dangerous and I believe we lull ourselves into thinking otherwise. All it takes is one incidence and someone can be badly hurt.

yep, sounds like a faulty atty which may have been caused by over-tightening and the GGTS needs to be stripped into its components and thoroughly cleaned, prepped with Vaseline or silicone grease (food grade that is best for o-rings) then reassembled. Doing this will not only stop the button getting hot but will improve the amount of vapour being produced.
