Sometimes I get hot legs and coil heats from outside in. I've found that "messing" with it helps. Saw the technique in a video (don't remember which!). The guy would pulse the coil, see hot spot or uneven heating, ang just touch it gently (still hot, but powered off) with a tiny screwdriver. Takes some patience, but does some magic.

Take whatever you used to wrap your coil and keeping pressure constant pull or push on coil just going back and forth (called cueing, as in billiards) should resolve any hot legs.... Checkout a YT video done by SuperXdrifter. "look mom no tweezers - - - -" something like that..... Then I've even seen others strum it with a metal dental pick, dragging the point along the coils....... *lightly
