Tonight I had my first ever hot spring collapse on me and subsequent melting of the bottom of the delrin push button - prompting an order for spares from Rob.
I could not figure out what had happened - everything seemed to be just right and nothing seemed out of order and I had been vaping just fine all day with it.. but on analysis I found out what the problem was with a little help from my eagle eyed brother.
I had taken the reo2 cap off and lowered my coil a bit - this had pushed the retaining screw up a little (they do have a propensity to be a little loose sometimes) and coupled with the fact that maybe this time I tightened the reo cap a little bit more than before meaning it sat just a fraction lower than before and the top screw of the positive pin made contact with the bottom of my drip tip - shorted everything out and collapsed the safety spring.
there was just fractions of a millimeter in it -- but it was enough.
The drip tip in question is a favorite of mine but my brother noticed whilst we were trying to deduce what had happened that it was very long when compared to other drips in the o-ring section - see images.
So possibly a word of warning here for all Reomiser owners- ensure that your drip tip is not too long in the part that counts!
