So i build a dual twisted coil and notice that the other coil is heating slower than the other .. so i searched and found out its called hotspots and just need a bit adjustments to make it perfect. but no matter what i do it the same. is the problem on my atty ? because i only got this from my friend and its an old atty. i just ordered a new but i wont come till next month so im stuck with single coil but its good the flavor and vapor is good so cant complain here. so is the problem in the atty or on the coils ? i use 26g kanthal btw.
Hot spots are not 1 coil heating faster than the other. Its where a (single) coil glows unevenly. So for example glows fiercely at the leads of the coil but the rest of the coil stays cool. Or one or two wraps glow and not the rest. Eg. Hot spot in your coil.
If you have a dual coil setup and one glows harder than the other, your coils have a different resistanc, simple said, they are not identical. Pressing the fire button, the current will prefer the path of least resistance and that coil will glow harder.
Start over, make 2 new coils and make 100% sure you have exactly the same number of wraps and when tightening them on the atty, make sure your leads are of same length.
