The three lawmakers are the top Democrats on the Energy and Commerce Committee and its subcommittees on Oversight and Health. They say that e-cigarette companies have taken a page out of the cigarette industry’s playbook to target teenagers by sponsoring sports and music events and using celebrity spokespeople and cartoon images.

Excuse me, but GSK is the company marketing to kids. Look at the Kid Friendly Flavors of Nicorette gum and lozenges...Cinammon Surge, Fruit Chill, etc. And how about that TV ad that shows a miniature band magically appearing on the console singing, "I just want to celebrate" when the driver pops a piece of gum instead of lighting up. Kids love little people.

True ...
However, those opposed to ecigs don't care about
and refused to discuss ... such "common sense" comparisons.

Heh. :thumb:

Headline: "House Dems: Delay of e-cigarette regulation hurts kids"
And in other news: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Period."

That's not even mentioning BP's all out assault to convince us that we can't survive without their products to cure all our ills. ONCE UPON A TIME you'd go to doctor's, they'd examine you and find out what was ailing you. They'd prescribe medicine to treat what ailed you. TODAY, the Pharma industry sells you on the idea that they have the cure that will make you whole again (if they don't kill you with one of the side effects).

Oh, really? Name three.

Well, there's Dorothy, thats 1

her house was blown away by a horrendous vapour cloud IIRC, and she got to meet a wizard of Glantz and some other fantasyland characters, although she was not a kid as such, but definately under the age to smoke stinkies or vape in New York.

But definately over the age for Big Pharma to 'care' for her wellbeing.

Oh for heaven's sake, I am SO bloody tired of the "unscrupulous ecig manufacturers targeting our dear children" propaganda! Just soooo bloody tired.... Do these people even live in the same world as you and I?

No. They are our version of 'the aristocracy' - protected from all real life experiences.

And if anyone thinks that Henry Waxman is 'in the pocket of Big Tobacco', they are under a serious delusion. This is pure 'we know what's best for you' Big Government liberalism. It really couldn't get much clearer.
