I am a big fan of Dr House. However the real shock from tonight's season finale was the culprit....

The guy was importing extra strong deodorant. The deodorant apparently made him sick from "high levels of propylene glycol" which according the the show, can cause seizures.

I am not one to buy into conspiracies but damn that's good timing.8-o

No no, according to the show it caused 'a child in china', or poop somewhere in Asia, to have seizures! ..... But ughh I cant believe the timing either. GOOD GRIEF!
Thank god I dont have a bathroom the size of a dorm room and spray myself down with PG deodorant. Phew. I might have been worried.

Oh, was it a spray deodorent? If so, if he sprayed TONS of it and inhaled all the fumes...and I stress...tons of it...I can see that it would get one sick. LOL. Interesting way to stay smelling fresh. Hey, one could set spray deodorent spray in all four corners of the room and stand in the middle and set them off like bug bombs....LOL...DO NOT try this at home foks!

Sadly this is where you are wrong. Millions of Americans who previously knew nothing about PG have been 'informed' that is can make you very ill.

Frankly I think this is more damaging than the any news show to date

Well, then they are going to have more to worry about than e-cigs. Considering that PG is in foods, cosmetics, hell... just about every facet of our consumerism, I think worry-worts have greater places to start.

Might have been the lead in the PG, in the deodorant... They messed-up the mixture, and put lead instead of aluminum-oxide.

They gotta do something with all those dead car-batteries remains!

Though, there is that 1:1,000,000,000 person, who actually has reactions like that. It did not cause the situation of the seizure, it only triggered the pre-existing situation. Same way that a camera-flash or strobe or video-game can do.

Remember, some people can be killed from a drop of peanut-oil or sea-food... People can die from too much oxygen (What is normally enough for us.)... People can die from sugar... People can die from damn-near anything...

I did find it ironic that they choose that method, that show, that solution, and drew such an instant and radical conclusion without even doing a diagnostic.

Ironic that they also choose to blame the ingredient found in almost EVERY make-up... including the lipstick that he was obsessed with, in his insane delusions... Not to mention a good volume of drugs contain that chemical, and foods we eat every day.

So, we all go insane, and start throwing things at our spouses... then get cared-for by an insane doctor, who instructs everyone to cut-us up, and over-charge us for all sorts of scans that are not needed. Only to come to the conclusion that we should stop trying to save $0.25 by buying American deodorant.

I once liked that show... But they are pulling such odd things, and miraculous odds, for just being a general hospital. What are the odds of EVERY day having some rare and unique situation, that only house, with his insanity, can solve... Dougie-howser was more believable. :)

I watched it and at that part my partner just looked at me and said "wow.. we just can't get away from these damn ecigs.. can we?" (he did not take to vaping the way I did).

I love House... but this whole show had me so confused and aggravated (I am mad that he didn't really sleep with Cuddy). It will be frustrating trying to explain to people that PG is not bad.. but I try to keep in mind that most people who have never heard of PG wouldn't know if he said cushings or sarcoidosis or propylene glycol so I am not too worried... we are prob the only ones who recognized it lol :)

I think we should all write-in and complain...

No, wait...

Then they will have a show about some kid sucking on carts, and OD'ing a violent death in the hospital... While they try to save him by flushing his blood with anti-freeze and goat-pee, in hopes that it stops the swine-flu they think he has...

Then, at the end... eureka! She puffs an e-cig... and it all becomes clear!

I'd get house for "Malpractice".

I just watched the episode. The quote is "The deodorant has a high proportion of propylene glycol, same stuff that made a kid in Singapore develop a heart condition, and -- get this -- seizures."

This is a spray deodorant and the episode made a point of the very small closed bathroom the guy has at home, actually causing vapor condensation. So he was breathing in the deodorant.

I've tried to find a reference online about the case in Singapore but so far no luck. Could be just fiction.
