What kind of flavor replaced your American Spirit cigs?
Well at first, I was mixing together two pre-mixed juices; Turkish Bold, and Mojito, so it tasted more like the Camels I used to smoke, with a bit of lime flavor. I'm mixing now a 75/25 PG/VG 24mg/ml Nic base with either or both the FA Perique Black, and TFA's Key Lime. Sometimes just the base itself, as flavor is sometimes just not that important.

As long as I get a Nic Fix.. :vapor:

Even though for the first few months I was buying pre-mixed juices, the fact that I could get just about any flavor I wanted was the first thing I liked. After going thru some numbers my wallet and my lungs started telling me, "This really is amazing ;), and the way to keep going!". Now I'm DIY'ing my liquids, and I can get exactly the taste and kick I want.

Ya know your really starting to annoy me lol, one of the biggest complaints of all time on e cig forums is people saying they can never get the exact taste and kick they want .

I think i need to go lay down now , very disgusted .

Wow, thats amazing , usually if someone is not hell bent on quitting for good they do not succeed regardless of method used.
Nah, there are loads of testimonials from people who had no intention to quit when they first tried vaping, but quitting is exactly where vaping took them. I'm among them, but this isn't the right thread to recount the details yet again.

@eddiea the thing is if you liked any of FlavourArt - they do use usually smaller amounts to get where other brands need to be. When I started DIYing I was using a FA Tobacco at 2% stand alone. I learned after 8 months that I am a super taster, I can use tiny amounts - 0.1% of the FA Tobaccos stand alone. 1 of my ADVs I use 2 flavorings the FA 1 I use at 0.05%. My taste buds came back with a vengeance.

Same here Rossum. I had just given up on quitting and decided to smoke till I died.

    NO you don't. Believe me.
Or maybe it is being a Super Taster combined with having the bitter gene that gets me.
Maybe they go together? I dunno.

I have not found any commercial juices that I like to vape.
And about about 20% or more of the flavorings I buy I have to give up on.
For example the Inawera Shisha Strawberry that so many rave about is horrible to me.
so far the only TFA flavroing I can use is Brown Sugar and I use it in tiny quantities in my tobacco juice.

And the recipes people rave about? If they work at all for me I have to start with about a 75% flavoring reduction and work from there.

Thanks for the input Dixie. Yes I used minimal amounts of flavoring (some at .5% and lower), but if someone is as sensitive to PG as I am, it only takes a miniscule amount to feel the [negative] effects.

Many ingredients used in flavorings are that way to me.
And I shudder to even think about nutrisweet and it's ilk!
Sucralose does not have a physical impact on me like Nutrasweet but tastes like chemicals.

I was hoping this would become a popular thread, as I've got an ever-growing inventory of FA flavors, but am finding it difficult to find recipes that are FA-only. I'm all for substituting FA for other companies in recipes, but I'm too new to this to know how to adjust percentages based on relative strength.

Maybe someone can help me with this one. There's an e-juice I purchased recently called PearChi, the description of which read "pears, lychee, & berries. I've got pear and lychee (no berries except straw), and would appreciate suggestions as to percentages. (Bull City says start at 1% for both).

I found this recipe on another thread here (I'd credit them if I could find it again). There's no company given for the flavors, but I thought it might serve as a starting point, at least for the ratio of pear:Lychee.

    5% pear
    3% lychee
    2% coconut
    3% bavarian cream.

At least for a first batch, I'm going to skip the coconut, and cream isn't what I have in mind. Do the fruit percentages look OK? Should I adjust them to account for the lack of coconut/cream? Any educated guesses are welcome and would be appreciated.

I think I posted this recipe (not mine) some time ago when someone asked about Lychee.
The pear, lychee and bavarian cream was TFA and the coconut was Cap.
I had never made this recipe then and still haven't , so yeah I am not alot of help here:p
But FlavorArt flavors are very strong/concentrated so this recipes %'s would be HIGH for FA.

I have used the FA white peach and it is very yummy!!

Good luck with your recipe, start low%'s and work up.
Another option would be to make each flavor individually to your taste and then blend them until you get the blended flavor right. Hope some of this info helps.:)

What is Glory? Never tried it.

Its a 555 type tobacco. I never tried a 555 before glory but I was sold the first time I mixed glory. As a shake it Vape it is very good nice and nutty. Mixes well with tfa DRY4 and peanutbutter too.

Ordered a big bottle of it that ibshould get this week so I plan to play with it more.

    Ohh thanks for the info.
I do not care much for the 555 stuff much. The only tobacco flavoring I use is Hangsen Desert Ship, with a bit of butterscotch and brown sugar. Just a bit though.

Yes, that helps, and yes, the percentages were high. I did 5% pear, 2% Lychee, 1% mangosteen, and the results was muddy, vaguely sweet, vaguely forest-like. [sigh] I guess I really DO need to follow all the suggestions I read (and then ignored) about trying each individual flavor before mixing them. I'm not certain that I'm constitutionally capable of the patience this will require to mix something I like, but I'm determined to give it my best shot.

Take some time and good notes. but if you wind up with a nice vape it is worth it.

I will say that over and over to myself, until I get it right. :)

I was wondering, as long as I'm sticking to fruits, do they actually change that much with steeping?

Some change a lot. Banana being one. Strawberry as well, blueberry not so much, at least with the blueberry flavoring I use.
I made some banana once that was ok but not good. set it back and forgot it for several weeks and then tried it again and it was nice. Mellowed out a lot.

Some say you have to steep custards a long time. I have not found that to be the case with the custards I have been using.

If you like blueberry here is the blueberry to die for. Not real cheap but real good and free shipping. No chemicals or anything just blueberry.
