Being somewhat new to vaping I only have one PV so far, and it's a 401. Since I smoked so much at my computer, I got a pass thru. Was excited when I received it, but the more I looked at it, the more I questioned the quality. But I used it anyway and sure enough, after only a few days, it malfunctioned and stayed on after I put it down. Luckily I noticed it after about 30 seconds and unplugged it, but it was already VERY hot. Received the replacement a few days ago and the same thing has already happened a few times.

Other then the pass throughs sold by puresmoker, why are all the others so cheaply made?

Why can't the Chinese manufacturers make a good quality pass through?
If they make it, we will buy it. But the crap that they are turning out is absolute garbage. Delicate flimsy wires. Lack of quality control. It just looks and feels cheap. I seriously doubt they would pass any type of safety testing, if it was required of them.

These are not something that should be cheaply made. Compared to any other electrical device, there is a considerable amount of risk when using these flimsy pieces of crap. Worst case scenario is they could start a fire.

Anyone who vapes alot, knows how great it is to use a pass thru. Now if they could just improve the quality, we'd all be better off.

Why do Chrsyler, GM or Ford make such piles of garbage?

Because we keep buying them, and the keyword for every manufacturer is...
Replacement parts.

If you want a reliable long lasting pass-through, your only bet is making one yourself.

It is not as hard as you would guess and it will be even cheaper than the cheap Chinese. BTW despite the price tag on that PS pass-through you mention, it has it's own problems.

Take a look around the battery modders area and you will find a lot of different options.

Be patient, read a lot, it will be worth it, trust me.

If you are the lazy type, you can always ask one of the modders to sell you one of their creations.

In my opinion, learning how to do it yourself will save you money, time, headaches, and you will have exactly what you want, when you want it.

P.S. Any pass-through you see made by a modder can be made for any type of atomizer.

I am in the same boat trying to choose which 1, so far I think puresmoker has my vote since I have a 510 atm. Love the idea of the cut off like the 901 hybred has from ELP.

So new and freaking confused, and here is why the voltages.
Would the PT operate at a lower voltages?
And if so has anyone made a usb adapted battery box mod with a 3.7 5v 6v switch set up so it would take the PT?

The set up would be like a a freaking personal ehooka, but with adjustable voltages.
Seems like I am in luck the new guy we have at work is willing to assist me on the design of my first battery box mod, and he is sure the 3 switch set up for 3.7 5v 6v is possible. Now it is a wait and see on payday.

Why not one momentary switch and a 3-position slider? You're not going to want more than one voltage active at the same time, and in most cases it's just having three different resistors on the sensing loop. Easier than having three different buttons and having to remember which is which.

Love the idea, but isn't it kinda overkill? If you have had 5V... you wont wanna use the 3.7 anymore... and 6v on most atomizers give crappy taste. 5V is the perfect spot for me. So I would never change the voltage.

I think its a great idea, but I doubt it would sell.

Brings back memories of people trying to put 3 different atomizer connections on a mod... but I've only run into a few people that use more than one type of atomizer. :)

What I affectionately refer to as my "breadboard pass-through" can be adjusted by swapping out a resistor. I have always wanted to put a switch on it to make it easier, but never got around to it.

I also want a pass through that will charge my battery at the same time, like a small screw-in adapter that sits between the battery and the atomizer and diverts power accordingly. I think it is doable, and would be a welcome replacement for the standard USB charger.

I was going to get the PureSmoker USB PT v2, But in an email they told me they no longer carry the 510 adapters, i've since started using my Janty EGO USB battery (comes with charging cable) as my PT, i'll replace that battery in my inventory with a standard 900 mah battery and leave the USB battery for home use. The only non-standard device i have is a Precise 10440, so i have no experience with anything above 3.7 volts. Would be willing to buy a good PT at HV if one were available.
