Troll elsewhere please. Metal isn't about what you've stated above. In her own way Gaga isn't bad, some of her songs are actually catchy pop tunes. In her own style, sure, no problem.

To come into a thread about modern metal and equate though that she is "metal" shows us that you are trolling, which isn't appreciated. A statement like you just made, that I've quoted, shows that it is not us (that have posted in this thread in earnest) who's "shakras are all out of whack", but it is you, for feeling the need to troll.

Way to troll it up, and IMO, disrespect fellow ECFer's with accusations about SOME of the music we enjoy and cast aspersions on our "shakras". My "chi" has been placed out of balance now, thanks.

YOU SAID YOU LIKE LADY GAGA !!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUSTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was totally joking - jifjifjif is my brother, I taught him everything he knows about metal. I'm in that photo he posted of him with Dez from Devildriver, I'm the guy in the Motorhead shirt. Lady Gaga sucks.

Dez is a little guy too. Maybe 5'6" tops. Yeah, I got to see Coal Chamber about 7 times on their first album tour when they were all young little weirdos. They were touring with Sevendust on their first album. Great times. I was a young man in my 20s back then.

I remember seeing coal chamber on one of the early Ozzfest tours many many years ago which I think was before their album your. They played the small stage outside in San Antonio TX and rocked the place.

We really don't have to put up older bands. That's the problem with radio and siruis XM - one minute your bangin your head to some Atreyu and the next song is like sound garden or Judas Priest.

Perhaps another thread - "old killer stuff"

Or a thread called stuff I like to listen to" ? actually they have that one - it's called "how bout some music". Everything from Johnny Cash to Gladys patches.

Nothin against old stuff, I'm just tired of it cause if it were any good, I played it out when it was actually relevant and current :)

I'm usually not one to listen to music produced after, say 1985 or so (even though I'm seriously not THAT old, lol). But these guys really can perform with a masterful level of musicianship that is so lacking with "modern" studio techniques (cough, auto-tune and other disingenuous computer wizardry):

The older I get the further back in time I go. The band I play drums in (Saturnalia Temple, was listed among the 100 most evil bands in Terrorizer's "The Devil's Music" special issue :) ) is very 60s/70s. Trio, everything's recorded live with no overdubs. I do like modern stuff as well, but it needs to be as undoctored as possible. A good drummer can do 260 bpm blast beats without needing to have it corrected in post-recording, some errors are essential in the guitars, and having it sound organic is key

I did NOT say I liked Lady Gaga... I said in her own style she was ok. If you are the guy wearing a Motorhead T-shirt, then all is forgiven.... but let it be known... should anyone else perpetrate such.... blasphemy, they will get abducted by the Klokateers and be subjected to torture in the basement of Mordhaus.

Yes, now knowing that he is a metal head (according to jifjifjif), I'm good with it now. Well played sir.

I was regurgitating the same crap I used to hear in HS when everyone was into Springsteen and U2 and I would walk around with a Metallica or Anthrax shirt on. I was just messing around, I didn't mean to get on that one dude's tits quite so much.

Well, to make some amends Evilgrin.... how about posting up some "modern" metal, like described in the OP by SuperX!

Edit: if that was the crap you were hearing in HS, please tell me some folks got their AYuss's whupped for it LOL.

I must agree with the "nothing against the old stuff, Buuuuuttttt.....let's keep the new stuff going in this thread. I'd like to expand my playlists with some newer stuff to listen too. I liked that Trivium, Opeth, Epica and Otep that was linked. Gonna have to go get some of that and put it on my phone for when I head to the gym.
