I guess the main questions are

1. variable voltage? and what do you have it set at? and with what ohm heads?

2. what flavors are you using? chocolate and coffee flavors all have a burnt taste to me personally.

3. what percentage of VG are you using? high VG does not wick well with Protank heads causing dry/burnt hits

Using a variable voltage battery will allow more options to play around with different voltages for different flavors. Most flavors will have their own "sweet spot" voltage-wise. Takes some experimentation on your part.

Finding Your Flavor's "Sweet Spot" Using Variable Voltage

Clearomizers will need their coil/wick head replaced every 1 - 3 weeks. When you get muted flavor, a burnt taste, or a decrease in vapor production, its time to replace the coil head.

Having said that, no one juice attachment will meet the expectations for every individual. All are slightly different, and appeal to different vapers. vaping is a journey to find what works best FOR YOU. Generally speaking, clearomizers are recommended to novices because of their ease of filling and use, but they often mute some flavors and can have issues with proper wicking. Don't be afraid to try more advanced setups like a cartotank or a rebuildable atomizer after doing the proper research.

Proper Terminology: Is it a carto, a tank, or what?

I just have the original battery with it and I believe it is a 650, the coil is a 1.5 ohm that has been in for a few days which I will change out this morning, I use a rum tobacco 50/50. I have a Kanger twist coming that I hope will help out. Thanks for your replies!!

gunk builds up on the coil, and gradually tastes more and more burnt.

I change my coil every few days;
I'd change every day if I weren't lazy.
