OMG... Absolutely one of the worst betrayal/propaganda piece I've ever read; and in a respected watchdog.

Wow. After over two and a half years free of a thirty-five year cigarette habit (and many, many previous failed attempts to quit), I must say this article was truly distressing. I suggest any responses/comments posted to this article be carefully considered.

The reporter interviewed Jeff Stier extensively for this article, but failed to mention Jeff or anything he said criticizing the anti vaping laws enacted in California.

I sent an e-mail to the reporter telling him how his anti vaping and anti tobacco industry rant grossly misrepresented reality.

Thank you Bill. Particularly distressing as the group is counted on to uncover propaganda, falsehood, and conflicts of interest like those exhibited by ANTZ.

Every major industry in the United States has lobbyists and donates to campaigns and PACs. Tobacco is not alone in this effort, although they are being singled out here with large dollar figures. How much do you think the pharmaceutical industry lobbies? OpenSecrets puts the number pretty darn high, albeit that is at the federal level.

What is missing here, and is so frustrating, is the fact that many of the opponents of e-cigarette regulation (including those who represent us in these committe hearings) have nothing to do with the tobacco industry, such as Mr. Godshall. It is also implied that "grassroot efforts" are somehow tied to the tobacco industry's "playbook". I consider myself to be part of a grassroots effort, in that I try to advocate as much as possible, and I can tell you that I have absolutely NO ties to the tobacco industry whatsoever.

What's even more disturbing is nobody ever mentions THEIR playbook...
Rampant Antismoking Signifies Grave Danger

The Godber Blueprint has been in action for decades now.
With the full support of Big Pharma and the World Health Organization.

And it is has been far more successful than any "Big Tobacco" playbook ever was.
Assuming, of course, that a "Big Tobacco" playbook ever existed.

WE are the modern day victims of the Godber Blueprint.
And so few of us are even aware of it.
