One of my batteries LED's is messed up and I wanted to pop of the grey "ash" and see if I could fix the LED. Does anyone know how I can take it off with out cracking the "ash" and put it back on?
"messed up" = not working? Like mistinthewoods said, you can pop the cap with your fingernail.... but then you need a microscope and a real fine point soldering iron to replace the LED.......... Wouldn't bother if that's the problem.
LEDs don't usually fail... if it is an issue it may be with the PCB or battery in general. Not very user serviceable.
it's not broken as much as pushed off to one side, i was thinking if i popped off the cap i might be able to reposition it more in the middle so the entire cap would light up instead of a small portion of it. i've tried prying it off with my finger nails but it doesn't seem to work.
Sometimes there is a small indentation on the side around the rim of the cap. Small screwdriver, or like Imagine said, paperclib, tip of a knife, etc. Most are just lightly glued on.
