Coil resistance is probably part of the equation. Even though the label might say they're the same, there's +/- 0.2 Ohms in variation, meaning that two 1.8 coils might actually come in at 1.6 and 2.0, and the difference will be noticeable.

Depends some on what ohm coil your using. The lower the ohm 1.8 or less you get a faster hotter vape and you drain your battery faster. You use a 2.4 ohm coil it takes a bit longer to get to that hot stage and with the more resistance your battery last a bit longer. I agree my T3 beats my protank but I like the glass of the protanks to hold my menthols and its handy that they both use the same heads.
I build my coils between 2.4 and 2.8 ohms cause I like the cooler vape and having the battery last through my workday.
The only evods I've worked with are the ones from fasttech and they work OK once I put my own coil build into them, but I got tired of constantly refilling them.
I also purchased a couple Vapeonly BCC's and what a piece of crap it is. Before I even got out of the startgate I had to replace the mangled coil it came with to notice that the head was pressfitted in and not screw in, got mediocre vape quality, on my first less than half tank it began to gurgle then flood and after sitting overnight it leaked badly. I emptied it, cleaned it out and put back in the box and will never use that piece of crap again. I have to throw it away cause I won't sell such a substandard piece if crap to my worst enemy.
I feel better now that I've ranted. :)

EVOD and a T3 are similar but the airflow on the T3 is a bit tighter. I think this makes certain flavors stand out more and it really does some subtle things for the throathit.

I just got an evod with the 2.5 ohm head and it has hardly any taste. It only starts to taste good when the battery gets low. At first i thought it was a bad batch of juice, but maybe it's not? Any thoughts?
I actually just tried this with a 2.5ohm head I had laying around and you are right, lower power = more flavor for whatever reason. Just put in a 2ohm coil in and you'll be good to go.

Going back to the Vapeonly BCC, I think it's plain weird. It seems vapeonly didn't do their homework at all on the dynamics of airflow and wicking. I finally decided to pick one up as I only had an AGA-T which has inherent leaking if you hold it on the side. The installed coil I used wasn't keeping up but it tasted really good, so I removed a single flavor wick and thought 'that would normally fix it'. It started gurgling and leaking. Seems the airflow on these is pretty bad. I might go and drill the holes out if I can use my college's workshop.

I didn't even read this thread until now but I just discovered the difference yesterday. I have an MT3 which had its place in my rotation but it doesn't kick out the same flavor as CE5. I was just thinking the length could be cooling the vape too much for my taste so I decided to try an evod in a store yesterday. Much better. I own 1 now and intend to get more as my couple of CE4's die out. I still see use in the CE5's so I'm not completely replacing those.

It might be the fact that the evod is shorter so you get a little bit warmer vapor. I use evod coils and bases on my old T3 and I can notice a little bit of a difference too. I prefer the evod just a little but I can't really put my finger on why, its not a huge difference.

I didn't know this would work, I am going to have to try that now. Do you need to do anything extra besides use an evod base and head?

Evod base is not a proper match for T3
T3s base will update T3
T3s base is not the same as Evod Base.
T3s coils are slightly different in design/fit.

Yes but I just wanted to try this out, since I had an extra evod base and heads laying around, and not any T3 base/heads.

Unscrew it a tad from your battery, that should fix the airflow problem. It gurgles somewhat but it's easy to fix with a piece of paper down the central tube and turning upside down. If it's still gurgling, pump up your voltage a little.
