I posted this in the general e-liquid discussion, but want to get the SI point of view on this as well.............

I have been getting e-juice from 4 vendors now and 2 of them seen to have a pronounced "Bubblegum" taste to most of their flavors! How come I keep getting this "Bubbegum" flavor? I am using SI blank cartos and none of the SI flavors have that aftertaste. But quite a few of the samples from VR and HHV seem to have it, also one from JC. What is causing this? Is it an additive? A sweetner? Do I need to let them sit for a year or two? It is ruining the vaping experience with new flavors. Can anyone give me a definative answer? Thanks!

I'm sorry for your troubles, but I wish I could find a good Bubblegum flavor. The only one I have ever found that tasted (to me) like actual bubblegum was a pg/vg blend. I have such a bad reaction to pg that I couldn't really enjoy it. Now, all the ones I have tried from vendors that offer 100% vg just don't do it for me. They either have too much of a raspberry taste (Gourmet Vapor) or taste too much like fruit stripe gum (HHV).

I'm betting that the bubblegum flavor you are tasting is your tastebuds reaction to the base that those vendors use. I've used JC and HHV liquids before, and did not think they tasted like bubblegum. JC has a very unique flavor to their liquids that I used to really like, but cannot stomach anymore. HHV I got four different liquids, and did not find a similarity to their flavors, so I'm not sure about their base consistency.

I also get some kind of odd taste with HHV (haven't tried the others). It's not bad, it just wasn't what I was looking for. Kind of like powdered sugar or something? I let them steep awhile but it didn't go away. I just got some BWB flavors, and they have some kind of similar sweet taste too (now I'm gonna let those steep awhile).

My SI RY4 is still as fabulous as it ever was, though :2cool:

Thanks kids for the replys. Just wish I could figgure it out! The flavors that I can tast outside of the bubblegum aftertaste are interesting but subdued do to the aftertaste. Yes HHV has some strange tastes but also some great ones. Their Legend is very unique for a mild pipe tobacco flavor that is very complex. I really haven't found a big problem with SI flavors (Desert Joe, Ry4 and 555 are all awesome) and I just ordered their sweet sampler cartos to see if they taste any good. Wondering if it's a mix of my taste buds, the stainless steel in the cartos and another additive....maybe? Still steeping some of the samples I got from other places to see if the aftertaste will go away...........

hmm I have no idea...its not happening with ours right? Sometimes our tastebuds play tricks on us.... or it could be an additive...maybe VG content? not quite sure...i have never personally had that.

I don't think it's VG content as the JC samples I got in all VG taste fine. Will keep you updated it I find the definative answer!
