Hi all!
I'm relatively a newbie here (almost 2 months w/my Volt!) ... And I LOVE it ... BUT due to some issues with SI e juice (& they don't offer a VG option :-( ... I'm switching to, or trying 100% VG ... And hoping I can get to a 50/50 mix at some point without any adverse reactions. Soooooo ... I've looked and looked and I can't find answers about "dripping" with SI batteries! I ASSUME since auto sealed isn't totally SEALED (air holes on side) that I need to get SI manual batteries -- and that's OK!! What I need to know is if any 901 atomizer will work with the SI batteries??? Does SI recommend a certain atomizer? Can anyone tell me if they are "dripping" and if so what atomizer work well? I've read that bridgeless is popular for dripping. HELP! LOL!! I have 10 flavors og e juice coming that I need to try & from what I've read dripping is the way to go!! I LOVE the SI cartos, but would like to get a couple atomizers for at home use & trying different juices. I know that 901 have some leakages issues & I plan on getting a drip shield as well. Sooooo ... Any Volt users that can share their dripping set up would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Maybe Imagine can chime in here with recommendations from SI!!! Thanks BUNCHES!!!!

I haven't tried dripping yet, but I am investigating getting my first mod.

What Volt batteries do you currently have? I know that the EGO/KGO's (similar to the Volt X2's) can use atomizers for dripping. Perhaps you can get atomizers from distributors that sell that line. Thing to look for would be the resistance (2.8 ohms for your Volts). Also, make sure the threading to the Volts (8008D) to connect them are the same; you may need to get an adaptor.

Imagine or customer support will probably chime in here on what you will need. From what I understand, Smokeless Image's focus is on the entry level of customers.

Thanks for your reply! YES I'm hoping Imagine and other Volt user's will help out! Absolutely I went with Voly because I wanted EASY and SIMPLE!!! And it's GREAT!!! BUT ... Now I have to find other e juice that works for me because SI doesn't carry a VG option. This means I have to TRY different juices ... And because VG is thicker it takes longer to get into SI blank carts ... And I don't wanna waste carts on a juice I might take a half a dozen puffs of and hate! LOL!! Sooooooo ... Because ALL the e juice video reviews mostly show people dripping ... And from what I've read on ECF most people use the dripping method to TRY juices before they waste a carto on something they don't like ... Well here I am! Needing to find out more about dripping and specifically with SI batteries. Right now I just have the SI batteries & carts. I'm going to purchase a SI X2 battery - probably the 1300 big boy for use at home & dripping. I know the 901 is what I need for an atomizer, but from what I've read NOT ALL will work with SI battery threading. That's where I don't know what to order! I will be using the SI carts because I really like them ... But I want to use the drip method for testing/trying out different flavors. Surely others do this with the SI batteries (Manual ones I assume) and can tell me what they've found that works best!! If SI sold an atomizer ... I'd already be dripping!!! LOL!!!

Sounds like a Volt carto with the filler removed would be just what you need. You can even use an old carto, as long as it still fires. Just take a tweezers and gently pull the filler out of the carto; there should be nothing left inside but the the coil at the bottom. Rinse it out and dry burn to remove any crud from the coil, then rinse that off. Presto! Ready-made 808 atomizer that you know will work on your Volt battery.

Wow! Can it be THAT EASY Catlady??!!!! Hmmmm ... OK ... So I'm willing to give that a go ... Tho my mechanical/tinkering abilities are pretty much ZERO!!! Do I pull out filter material and EVERYTHING ... Meaning that round piece in the middle of filter??? I'm gonna try this ... But I'd still like to know if others have tried 901 atomizers for dripping and which will work well with SI batteries! Thanks!!

So is heather.

There are pictures on this part of ECf (smokeless image) showing how to turn a cartomizer into a drip. I cannot remember the thread, maybe someone else can help with that. Basically, you just carefully pull the poly out of the cartomizer with tweezers but leave the tube. Then just get a drip tip and you are good to go. It does work, I tried. You can do it without a drip tip, just keep the battery down so the juice stays on the atomizer or you will be sucking the juice, yuck. One more reason why the SI cartomizer is better than everyone else

My first intro to dripping was removing the packing of one of my cartos. Worked fine, and you can get by with it but I prefer an actual drip atty and tip.

You can buy 901 Atomizers like Imagine said as they will fit on the 808 batteries and you can also buy 901/808 to 501 adapters then just use a 501 Atty with drip tip. Be sure to use a manual battery though to prevent damaging an auto. Might be a bit airy, but should still work fine.

Couple places you can find 808 to 501 adapters.

801 Battery to 510 Atomizer adapter
Adapter for connecting a DSE901 or KR808D-1 battery with a Joye510 atomizer

Throw on one of these Vision Bridgeless 510 Atomizer, 2.8 Ohm and a drip tip and you should be set.

Nicquids taste different on different attys, and the difference in flavor can be significant. So, if my main vape is going to be a Volt, then I like to test nicquids on Volt equipment. I would recommend using a a Volt carto rather than a 901 atty or some other atty with an adapter. Here is an easy step to step picture tutorial on how to turn a regular Volt cart into a tester carto - Post #14.

Wow!! Thanks you guys!! VERY good info!! I'm going to "mod" a SI carto to try for my very first attemp at dripping! LOL!! Is "mod" the right lingo to use ... ???? My "newness" shows! :) BUT I'm also going to get a 901 atomizer! AND one of those cool looking drip shields I saw at empiremods.com!! Soooo does anyone know of a cheaper drip shield that works as well as the empire one? Also ... Didn't know I could use the drip shield with a SI carto ... Cool!! AND sounds worthwhile to pick up an adapter thingie! :) Thanks again ... !!!!

YES!!! That's the other drip shield I'd seen in one of the other MANY posts I've read! I just could NOT remember who sold it ... And couldn't find which thread it was in!! LOL!! Thanks BUNCHES Optics!! I just wish everything I need/want was in one place! I like the EASE of one stop shopping! Now if SI offered a standard 901 atty that worked with their manual batteries & a cool drip shield THAT would ROCK for the peeps that wanna learn to drip (great for testing new flavors!) ... ;-)
